Okay, did not get my 3 miles in last night.  Took hubby with me, and he had to walk after a mile.  I got in 2.2 miles I figure but took pity on him waiting on me.

Today I did 40 min strentgh with the trainer - I want to whine major here.  Ouch, I feel old.  Did another 30 on the cycle and then  30 swim.  So I got in a great workout today.  Woot!

Now I get to work the weekend, blah.  But next weekend will be a three day weekend.  Yeah!

Have a great weekend everyone.  Since I'm working, I will more than likely pop in, but it ususally is quiet here so I might be talking to myself.

Good evening Ghoulies!

We had a super fun soccer practice tonight. It was me, the 4 kiddos I had that showed up for practice tonight, and 2 moms against my son, husband, and 4 of the U-10 (the kids the next age group up). We had a blast. My team won 1-0. Part way through the coach for the U-10 players jumped in and started helping my team. I was the keeper, and the other team took a lot of shots on goal, but I was NOT going to let them win!

After the game the boys on the other team wanted me to get back in the goal, they wanted to keep shooting to see if they could score on me.

The game was really fun!

Sounds like a great time was had by all, and that's the way it should be.  Great job being goal keeper.

Morning Ghoulies.

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday. Drove home yesterday in time to set up for the surprise party for our friends 80th birthday. her kids and Jim were raised together. They wanted to have it here because if it was at any of their homes, Nancy (the honoree) would have ended up doing all the work. There were about 50 people and it was great fun. All except the two young boys who were allowed to run free. They finger painted on the run with pink icing. Let the cat out, turned all the electronic equipment on. Dumped out all of our movies looking for one.. and on and on and on. Man, you would think the parental unit would have,,,,,  No. STOP!!! Rant over.

Today is clean up and then off to a wine festival then a party with a friend who just graduated as a Nurse. Second career for him. He is going to be 49 in a few weeks. I admire folks who go back to school to do what they really wanted to do way back when.

Anyway hopefully today will be fun filled.

Talk to you all later.

Kendra, so sorry you have to work!

Where were the parents???  Makes me crazy, and if it's my house, I educate and then I take the kids to the parents and let them know that this does not happen in MY house, smiling sweetly all the while.

And, don't feel too sorry for me having to work.  there are no teens here on the weekend, so I actually enjoy being here most of the time.  Bummer to miss weekend activities with friends, but yesterday I had a wonderful lunch with a friend that I would not have done on the weekend.

And, on the whole weekend thing...Hubby has talked to his boss about working every third Saturday (the same one I work) and then taking the following Friday off.  If they approve that, then he and I will have a 3 day weekend off together every three weeks.  Keep your fingers crossed.

The Saturday would also allow him to work uninterupted.  He gets really upset that at his job, he is constantly interupped by people who all have "high Priority" problems.

Thanks guys. Super tired. The problem with pool heats is I have to get up to sit around for like 4hrs...I was in the pool too...so I ended up getting dehydrated before I started because it was hot. Then the winnddddddddddd. and this GIANT hill x4. Haha. I'll eventually get around to a RR.

Oh and the run was long. They said it was 5km...but it was actually 5.8km...haha. Oh well.

Good morning Ghoulies!

What a day yesterday.

The boys were up and had to be out of the house by 7:00, their soccer game was an hour and a half away. So I was up to help them and make sure they had everything. After they were gone I got my daughter and I ready for our game. We had to go and pick up a teammate of hers, then off to the field.

We only had 5 of our 6 players, so everyone had to play the entire game. We won 15-1. Everyone on my team scored at least once. I felt bad for the other team. Their coach wasn't there, but they just didn't appear to be coached well at all. I'm sure they didn't have a lot of practices, but the kids didn't know how to do throw-ins at all. The keeper would try to kick the ball away from the goal (this was everyone who played the position). I had talks with 2 of them to let them know that they could pick it up with their hands if the ball was inside the goal box. We were up 12-1 going into the fourth quarter. I told my kids they had to pass the ball 3 times before they were allowed to score.

I didn't have my assistant coaches yesteday, my son and husband, because they were away so not only was I coaching by myself, I refed the game, too.

My son's team lost a tough game 6-2, he was pretty upset about it.

After soccer it was time to get ready for my brother's wedding. I spent the time before the wedding playing with the little kids. During the wedding I was feeding my niece goldfish crackers, she's 18 months. My nephew, my brother's son, was the ring man, he's 2. He got tired of standing in front of the church so he walked over and sat with my parents, we were right behind them, so I was feeding him crackers to keep him still and quiet.

After the wedding and the pictures, my brother and his new wife were going to drive themself to the reception. I drove them there.

Here's a little something about my family and some of my parent's friends. Don't trust us. Ever! My sister gave my parents a gift to give them a clue where they were being stationed next, it was a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts, my dad loves them. They opened the box, then had to go outside to come in and be announced. While they were outside, my sister and I, and my parents best friends emptied the box of nuts, all except 1, and hid them from my parents. When they discovered the open box they really thought we ate them.

We ate, goofed around, the wine coolers were running low, so I made an alcohol run right up the street for more. Margarita flavored wine coolers are very good. I'm not sure how many I had because an aunt and I kept drinking out of each other's bottles. This was on purpose. I think I only had 3.

My brother is married. We had fun. All was good yesterday.

Anne, now I know to keep macadamia nuts hidden from you and your family.  Sounds like you had a lot of fun at the wedding and great job on keeping the little ones quiet.

MORNING GHOULIES!

HAD A SUPER FAB TIME IN CLEVELAND....did reasonably well at my 5k.

considering the past year....i'll take it.

experienced the most AMAZING race finish EVER!

i went to Cleveland to meet up w a group of people from the Biggest Loser Club online.  most of the folks ive never met in person...but the thread had been very 'villagesque'

i got to meet the BLC 'expert' that coached me through my first 1/2 marathon. WOOT!

there was a guy that was part of the group that i never met/never knew online.  he joined the thread after i left.

it was first race weekend EVER!

and he registered to walk the 10K.

this guy has quite a ways to go in his weight loss journey, but he set out to walk a 10K.

his longest distance walking was 3 miles.

we joined him as a group.  we were DFL the ENTIRE time.  in fact, the front runner of the marathon caught up to us with 1/2 mile left in the 10K.

BUT.....WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE.

ive never experienced a race from that vantage point before.

let me tell ya this guy and the others i saw in the back of the pack are ROCK STARS!!!!

at 2:20 we came down the chute and crossed the finish line linked arm and arm.

A-MAZ-ING!

i told my new friend that there was not a single race finish of my own that would ever even come close to how AMAZING THAT finish was.

SPECTACULAR.
