Continue to plug away at "training" hoping to maintain momentum through the fall and winter........swims the past 2 weeks have been better; some sessions with 1800 to 2100 yards in under an hour.....

Swim sessions continue to be better....2K yards yesterday with a particularly challenging workout; mornings cooler now for the walks; left knee is a bit grouchy....keeping on keeping on!! Trying to encourage my daughter to join one of her brothers and I for a sprint next spring. She is/was a swimmer - successful HS career and swam at a Div 1 swimming program....she's "thinking" about it....needs a bike....

Glad to hear your still at the swimming. It's such a nice sport in terms of impact on the body. I took it fairly easy during the month of October and I'm starting to ramp up the frequency (if not the distance) of my swims (3x week). Hope your daughter will be convinced to join you. My oldest decided to join the HS swim team this year and has casually mentioned an interest in doing a triathlon next summer. I would be super excited if she did. We'll see!

Good luck to your daughter on her HS Swimming. Our daughter started as a Freshman in HS and had some "natural" talent for swimming - although she always loved the water as a little girl...had no fear of the water so we had to watch her so closely....

She and I have done several runs over the years and prior to my knee replacements-the first event was a 4 miler....about 2 miles into the event she looked over her shoulder and told me she'd see me a the finish line! I did mange to finish ahead of her in a couple events. My oldest son and I did a 1.2 together in 2011...he convinced me to give that challenge a try. We did well for first timers; the next year we signed up for the same 1/2....along with our youngest son (full time army soldier)....but, they both ended up injured and I ended up doing the event by myself....knees gave away after that and I had the left one replaced less than a year later....so-that's why I've had to walk the 5K portions of the 2 sprints I've done.....

After Thanksgiving Travel and travel this past weekend I hope to get back at a more regular schedule; I did get 2 swims and a weight session in last week but nothing else while we were visiting family over the weekend. First treadmill session of the season this morning....

Was in a local running store yesterday; spoke with J....she's a very good Triathlete....we sometimes swim at the same pool when training. Told her of my plans to get back into some events in the spring; actually the first one I did in 2015 was one she told me about. She won her age group in that event.
So....I plan on being involved again with the "mentor" program. I know it'll be the 3rd time around for me but with not being able to get an event in this year I'm really in "year 2"....

Will be interested in seeing what groups form......
