Just got home from a morning at Costco!!! Alway fun with the family.....Was thinking of going for an easy run when I got home, but wasn't feeling it. Logged on here, read Sam's question and everyone's responses which made me HTFU...SO out I go. Just an easy run though. Have the relay with wifey tomorrow. I think I have her paranoid that if we don't get top 3 in teams, she thinks I'll be disappointed......Good to keep her on her toes!!

Hi Sam, welcome to the group...going to be interesting having a husband/wife in the mix  :-)

I would not worry too much about one day.  We all have days that we feel , should we say, less motivated.
See how you feel later today or even tomorrow.   If you are still struggling let the group know.  I was having trouble earlier this year and I have to say this group rallied and got me well on my way to training again.   This group is awesome!

BTW, not a bad time to lay off for a few days...enjoyt he holiday.  Good luck!

John,  I knew I really liked you  Kiss

2010?  Let's just see how this year goes.....
but if I don't repeat it at least I'll come down and cheer you on!

And because I like you I'll share all most of my mistakes with you so you don't repeat any of them.
(I'm sure I'll do something no one would ever do...I learn the hard way)

I'm pretty excited.....I just ran this hillt route in our community. I haven't ran in it quite a while, but I looked back to December when I started logging here, and really just got running. Iran the 6k in 40:30 on December 26th. Today i ran it in 37:13!! So seeing progress for sure. Sometimes Iget frustrated in how slow of a runner I am, but then think holy crap I used to be even slower than this!!

Whoa, I didn't catch that!  Thanks Linda!  Looks like Roni isn't the only one with an IM on the books for 2010!

Nice, John! Now, be nice to Sam or she'll take it out on Tony

With regards to your post, Sam, I think it is normal to need a break once in awhile, don't tell Suzy though, she'll take that as me calling her abnormal...that girl NEVER seems to take a day off...

That being said, though, if you notice you are cranky or irritable later in the day (like I usually get when that happens), go for an ez swim, or a nice bike ride without a set plan.  I usually don't get too masochistic (like John and Andy) because I figure it's in the past.  Steve sent me a really good link way back about training plans when I had a similar question.  I'll try to find it and post it.

Have a great 3rd, everyone

Weekends is where I try to catch up with everyone.

Trevor - great job, 3 minutes is a big chunk.

John - You'll kick butt in Florida.  Congrats on the big step.

Kim - Suzy is genetically gifted (sounds better than crazy huh?).  I don't think she ever gets tired, sore, run down, lazy, etc...

My run today was the first time I went over 13 miles since my injury in April.  Hurray, no pain!!!

Anyway, I have a question.  When I ramp up my volume I get a HUGE dark chocolate addiction.  I have never had a sweet tooth but I lose my mind now without it.  Anyone else get cravings during training?

Hope everyone is well, Chet

Thanks for all of the words of wisdom, encouragement and everything else in b/t today.  I never did make it to the pool but I also had a strength and core conditioning class w/ my Fit 4 Moms group.  Anyways, I made it to that and suffered through a bunch of planks, ab work and other torturous exercises.  So the day was not a total lost.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th!

Tony and I will be up early for a 4 mile race where I hope to kick his a$s!!!!!!!!

Told my wife about the chocolate cravings (I get them too -  Healthy Choice Fudge Bars...)  She mumbled something about serotonin, yada, yada, yada, makes sense, yada, yada....  Apparently it is not that unusual...

Actually there is one about 1 mile from the house at the top of the hill.  So I could literally run there...  As a matter of fact I was thinking of changing my run course around to run up that hill...
