In the 30's here already!  Thought I would get frostbite volunteering at the Chicago Marathon yesterday was sooooooo cold!  Ran at 34 degrees Saturday too!

They are still trying to schedule bike rides at these temps ... NOT FOR ME, can't do cold bike rides.  About 65 is my limit.  Don't think I have ever ridden below.

It was 50s during the bike portion of Portage Lake Triathlon last year, and I thought I was going to freeze to death.  I swore I wouldn't do another cold weather tri again (though IMMT has the potential to be quite chilly).  I don't ride outside if it goes below 60....call me a wimp if you want  I will run in snow and ice with temps pretty low, but I don't like to do that either.  30s are usually the cutoff for me.

I was away for the weekend for my daughter's soccer tournament in CT this weekend so no training. Swimming 1800 yards, ran 5 miles of which 2 warm-up, 2 tempo, 1 cool-down. 10 minutes of core work and 10 minutes of leg strength training after the run.

I will run down into the teens, though bundled up .... I WILL NOT wear yak trax cuz I know if it is that bad there is potential for sprains or breaks or falls ... not worth it!  I fall enough walking the dogs!  Although maybe I should wear them for dog walks

I will run in any cold conditions unless it's icy.  I will bike in pretty much anything unless the roads are wet or it's super windy.  Of course I live in the south, so ice & snow are pretty uncommon.  But, it does get into single digits, and it does not bother me at all.  I just layer more.

I'm in transition.  Both summer and winter gear are in the drawers.  I need to weed out the summer gear to keep the drawers from being too stuffed.

The girls got into my cold weather stuff at some point.  Who knows if I have a matching set of anything in the same place.

Z1 ride + core work this morning, and then I have a short run this afternoon.  Legs are feeling much stronger on the bike and run.

I'm tinkering with the idea of doing the American Triple T in southern Ohio.  It's a 3 day event.  I want to do it as a team, but I don't know anyone crazy enough to do it with me, so I would do it solo.

Anyone with any feedback about this race (or know someone who raced it)?

Is that one of those crazy events where you do a sprint, olympic & half (maybe even a 2nd sprint)?  A couple of guys in my neighborhood did one of those, for some reason I think it was in the Carolinas somewhere.

I would totally be all over that if it was close by, and didn't interfere with whatever training I had going on at the time.  You should do it!

Medium long run this morning - and it was fabulous!!  I have not felt that good on a run in a very long time.  It was cool enough that I wore capri tights and a thin long sleeve shirt, which was perfect.  It's darker longer now, so I finished when it was still dark out.  It's going to be a great day!!!

Super sprint on Friday, a.m. and p.m. olympics on Saturday, and HIM on Sunday.  The second olympic on Saturday is bike, then swim, and then run.  Challenge is that it is VERY hilly.  I mean, crazy hills.  HIM times are like 7+ hours on average.  I did my undergrad work in Southern Ohio, and it's absolutely beautiful down there.  I don't know if it interferes with the training schedule.  I will have to find out.  I also need to see if it conflicts with my kids' school schedules, as it's in late-May.  Just looking into it right now.

I have multiple friends that have done that race, multiple times (and signing up again).  It is great training for hilly IM's.  The only thing I have heard is the hills are ridiculously hard ... but everyone has enjoyed it and keeps going back for more.

I am doing the Baltimore Running Festival this weekend as part of a marathon relay. My running partner was selected as one of Under Armour's 'She's a Fighter" Survivor. If you go into any Under Armour store or Dick's or lots of other places, her picture is all over the country and on their home page. I am running on Under Armour's relay team for the She's a Fighter with my partner.

Here is her video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&hl=en&client=mv-google&a... is a link to the under armour page with the three winners - http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/power-in-pink

may get some good UA swag this weekend in the very least. They are hosting us for 3 days.

Triple T is tough (and hilly).  If you go to my friends list Amy Engel did it in 2011 -- you should take a look at her race reports.

Kelly - you are too funny!

So I have a 3:00 doctors appt to go over biopsy results. I find it really ironic that Eagleman registration opened today and I have this dr.s appt. I promise to let you all know what happens!! Whatever the outcome, I WILL finish Eagleman some way, some how!
