I'm tinkering with the idea of doing the American Triple T in southern Ohio.  It's a 3 day event.  I want to do it as a team, but I don't know anyone crazy enough to do it with me, so I would do it solo.

Anyone with any feedback about this race (or know someone who raced it)?

Triple T is tough (and hilly).  If you go to my friends list Amy Engel did it in 2011 -- you should take a look at her race reports.

Yeah, I'm thinking I may do it in 2014 as an A race (and hopefully as part of a team).  There would be plenty of time to recover and do Cedar Point that September (half or full).  It looks brutal but fun.

Amy's race reports for triple t aren't clickable.  I read all the others under Race link.  Sounds interesting!

Kelly - you are too funny!

So I have a 3:00 doctors appt to go over biopsy results. I find it really ironic that Eagleman registration opened today and I have this dr.s appt. I promise to let you all know what happens!! Whatever the outcome, I WILL finish Eagleman some way, some how!

Positive thoughts for you today!!!!

Oh really???

Positive vibes headed your way Michele.

Little mid day brick today.  1:40 of intervals followed by a 30 minute T run.   Let my pace/hr get away from me a little at first on the run but it feels so damn good outside I wanted to push it for a mile or so.

Run and then strength this morning.  May do some yoga and core stuff this afternoon.  My HR is finally matching effort, and it's almost as if I never took the 2 weeks off.  Feels great to be back to normal!!  I'm also beginning to feel a bit stronger due to all the strength work, and I will definitely continue to incorporate it into my plan for the long haul.

Low cadence interval workout this morning.  One of my favorites.

As far as Kona I'd love to see Rapp win it, but if I had to put money on someone it would be Crowie.  Female wise IDK.  Probably Rinny.  Her run is too good.

Oh yeh, got to do a tempo run this morning ... first in months.  First 5 minutes was crap and stiff (still getting used to am workouts), but really loved building the speed throughout!!!  Certainly broke up the boredum of being on a treadmill.

I am unfortunately stuck on a treadmill alot because it is dark in the am and dark when I get home and I am just not comforatable running in the dark.  argh

So I have switched to a new position that is throwing a wrench into my training schedule. I now have to get up at 5 not to run but to get out of the house to ride the train into DC for work. Luckily my wife has been supportive and is going to let me run in the evenings. It's a bummer because that is usually wind down time with the family. They are shorter runs during the week so it isn't so bad. All my long stuff falls on the weekend luckily. However, my concern is when I start back tri training by adding more bike and swims in. The train times are limited out where I live. Should I split workouts if I need to, basically doing two-a-days? ???Any Advice?

Kona...I don't know enough about each participant...if Lance was there...

PS will Kona be televised and if so what channel?

4 a.m.?  Lunch break?  I got up at 4 last year on swim days.....just make sure you're in bed by 9 (otherwise you'll want to hit that snooze button ).  It's nice that your wife said yes to evening runs, but I understand why you're torn.  Evenings are busy around here, and if I recall, your children are older than mine, so you may have even more going on than I do at the moment.  That's tough, Larkin.

My husband said I have to cut the spending a bit, and that means no new running tights or shorts until after the holidays (when I'm gifted some $).  So I'm stuck with 2 pairs of large tights that puff around the waist and crotch, and then another pair of thick pants that go over the tights.  I can get away with the large running shirts, but those pants.....dang!  This sucks.  I guess it will make my Christmas purchases that much sweeter.

Thanks, yea the kids are really busy now with Soccer which will die down in November.  The little one is usually down by 8-8:30. 4am just sounds horrible, like Mike Lowry says "I didn't know 4 o'clock came twice a day" I will know tomorrow if the facility I am working at has showers. I have been working at the remote site which has a gym next door but I don't know anything about the main site.

Just a thought because my cousin has done this before...Salvation Army or other consignment shop might have something for really cheap.

I split a lot of my days.  I prefer to get everything done in the morning but with late sunrises, in the fall and winter I tend to run in the morning and bike at night.

Maybe I will, and then I'll pass along some of my free stuff to you because you help me so much.  It asks for a resume or CV.  LOL  I'd have to dig those things out of the dustbin.
