I haven't been paying attention to the Kona predictions.  I glossed over all those articles in Triathlete last month, too.  It seems like it's always the same 2-3 people vying for the top spot, and I am ready to see some new winners.  Macca or Crowie wining again just isn't cutting it for me.  I just tune out.  I don't know why I feel that way this year.  I would like to see the women's race though.

I'm taking Madge to Chicago this weekend, so I won't even be able to watch it live.  I will have to watch the condensed version on tv.  Not that I'd actually get to watch it on Saturday anyway, as I have to share my computer time with others in my family on the weekend (folks who want to play Club Penguin and not watch triathlon ).

So I haven't really been reading the Lance stuff all day, but I went over to the Sports Illustrated site to check the baseball scores and clicked on one of the pieces.  This blurb is making me rethink my stance that he's a good guy:

"Former U.S. Postal rider Christian Vande Velde testified that in 2002 Armstrong and Ferrari held an intervention of sorts -- because Vande Velde was not doping sufficiently -- where Armstrong told Vande Velde that he "would have to follow Dr. Ferrari's program to the letter."

I'm working my way through the 211 page report from USADA to UCI.

Its well written and done in narrative form to make it easily digestible.  I'm curious how the true believers are going to react -- there are always those who, in the face of a veritable panoply of evidence to the contrary, find a way to believe and I'm interested in their reasoning.

Sorry for the delay. The tests did show the cancer is present in the lymph nodes they tested. It is small from what they can tell. The doctors are talking to determine what the next step is. I won't know until next week. I am leaning toward just monitoring and not doing the invasive surgery they may suggest. I have a race to run! Tempo bike done for the morning!

You have such a fantastic attitude!

We're all thinking of you, let us know if there is any way we can help.

Also speaking of racing -- I'm thinking about doing Eagleman in 2013 so I can be there when you finish.

I heard on the radio this morning there was a poll done regarding calling in sick to work, when you're not really sick.  Not sure I remember exactly what they said, but it was something like this -

1 in 3 call in sick when they are not sick, they just want to take a day off

1 in 6 call in because they want more sleep

1 in 10 bosses drive by the house of the person that called in sick to see if they are really sick

I thought it was funny.  Who drives by their employees houses?  Maybe a phone call to "check on them" but drive by???

I have called in because I needed to do a long run or bike workout and didn't get it done on the weekend (Type A).  I'm a little psycho though...

LOL.  As a boss I figure IF they have the sick time who am I to question it, but if they're out of time they better bring a doctor's note!

Oh and I never thought I was Type A before, but now that I have a training schedule...... yikes.  I also obsess about things.  Current obsession is race wheels.

Haven't made that decision yet, but Muncie is in July anyway.

And NO, I am NOT doing IMOO!!!  Louisville is still in the cards, but haven't decided on that distance for next year yet.  Louisville will be much cheaper (although hotter and hillier). Florida would suit me more, but would cost more, require more time off work, more travel time and costs ....

Everyone around here does Louisville or Cedar Point, and most do Muncie as part of their training for those events.  I want to do Louisville sometime!
