Morning everyone!!

Hopefully I'll be around more after today. Ugh.

I'm kind of excited about the race this weekend. Mostly I'm glad I get to take off for a few days.

Kristen, I should only be working tomorrow morning, so I can still meet you before I go to Virginia Beach.

Jen, EDIT: are you doing a 5-miler on Saturday and then a half mary on Sunday? Wow!

Good luck this weekend!

Yep! They call it the Dolphin Challenge. It's pretty fun. I did it last year, too.

Hmmm. On Saturday, I'll be sitting on my couch thinking of Jen doing the 5 miler...Do I get a prize for that?

maybe you'll get some cheesecake

I'm in such a good mood today!  I talked to my adviser and he said not to stay late or come in tomorrow.  Just take the day off and focus on my races this weekend.  I can do the rest of the work on Monday.

He's kind of bipolar sometimes.  It helps that he races, too, and is going down there for TnT.  Still, I really appreciate it because I have been working way too much the past few weeks.

Is there a reason to not apply? If you apply you don't have to take the job. You could go through the application process so you have a little more time to think.

I can always withdraw my application even up through the interview process. But turning down a job in FHWA isn't really a good career strategy, long-term.

I just don't know what to do... I'm not happy here but those issues are not geographically-related...

Follow your gut, not reasoning, not nerves... just all gut!!!  I would have missed out on a lot in life if I had not given up everything (job, friends, family, and familiarity) to move to a place I had NEVER been and new NO ONE.  You just never know until you get there.  Why not take a chance on life, could it be much worse than not being happy... hmmm.... seems like that may already be the case.

Good Luck with whatever your decision might be, just follow your gut.

I have to agree. Sometimes you just need to take the chance. I know you did with California, but if it is not working out, then maybe another location would be better.

Thanks. I really am happy with what she did. All the gray is not gone, but 90% of it is. I think that is good for someone my age. (I'm not judging anyone, just how I feel for myself) LOL
