I did a 2500 yd OWS today -- the water was a cozy 65 degrees Volleyball and softball are really interfering w/ training these last couple days, but I may fit a run in this afternoon before the neighbor's early evening party. I keep telling myself I shouldn't after the beating my knees took in volleyball last night.... Oh yeah, the laundry room needs to get done so we can hook up the washer again SOON! nice swim! I need to hook back up with my OWS buddy when I'm back in Omaha - trying to figure out somewhere to go out in PA no washer - that's rough - are you going to a laundramat? Haven't yet and things are getting desperate! My daughter's housesitting job fell through -- we were planning some quality time together while doing laundry Guess I could get off the computer and work on the laundry room...... why would you want to do that? crazy talk! Don't worry -- we watched a movie instead. Family time was spent watching Knocked Up together. Much better than I expected and a good reality check for all of us. |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Cheesecake Lovers June Challenge Team Standings - Week #1Can you believe that June is already 23% finished? Here's how the teams stack up after the first week:FIRST PLACE - Avatar Avengers 21.1% SECOND PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos 18.6% THIRD PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers 16.6% FOURTH PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) 14.6% Congratulations to the Avatar Avengers! BUT this is only the FIRST week of the month! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT! Need a reminder of what happens at the end of June? The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!" All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc. Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it. - Dee |

Veteran 194 Denver, CO | Subject: RE: Cheesecake Lovers Hey team! We have such a fabulous and supportive group I know we'll start to pull ahead soon. I did last minute 1/2 mary this morning, and it was a good wakeup call re: prepping for my HIM. The race was pretty slow for me, but my goal was to race well rather than to race fast today. I did a long(ish) bike ride yesterday, and I think my legs weren't 100% (and I had some stomach issues too). Anyway, I realized I have a lot of distance to cover before August 10, when I will have to run the 1/2 mary after doing anything else, but, if nothing else, it was a great training run today! Off to ice my foot... Keep up the good work, everyone! |

It was Saturday my time but everyone else may have already gone to bed I did a quick review of everyone's logs last night to make sure everything was on the spreadsheet -- looked pretty good. Nice job team! I did a 3:40:00 ride today and just filled out next week's calendar to make sure I hit my goal #s. Let's go CCL!!! Edited by skarl 2008-06-08 8:24 PM |

But yes, you got the spreadsheet updated in time for the Sunday morning (my time) update! And at the end of June, I'll give everyone an extra day to enter their final numbers. I will have this weeks in by Saturday so I am up to date when they do to post weekly results. Have to make up some swim and lifting time this week, but after my bike commutes I will be right on schedule for everything else! Have a great week everyone! Great job Bill!!! Got a trail run in this morning with my Moose. Had the hills to ourselves, except for the elk. None of them chased us so that was ok -- didn't see any babies either so that's probably why. Off to work, then OWS this afternoon. Really gotta find time to do strength!! |

Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: RE: Cheesecake Lovers givemashot - 2008-06-06 12:38 PM OK, so hubby and the kids are at the apple store downtown, so I have a few minutes, and I wanna play, so here, goes... I'm Amy, 33, registered nurse (thus the user name), I have 2 kids ages 11 (girl, turning 12 in a few months), and 6 (boy). My hubby travels alot, and I work an irregular schedule of swing shifts, so I have a weird, unpredicatable schedule that conflicts with my training. I was an age group swimmer growing up and in high school for a few years, then I tried my hand at diving. I never rode my bike much growing up (and less after high school), and I wanted to run, but my legs did not cooperate, so...fast forward to last fall, when a friend called me and said, "hey we should work out together!". We'de been down that road several times before, never making it very far, but she swore she was serious this time because she was training to do a triathlon this summer. "You should join us--it'll be fun". Fast forward another 6 months and here I am, I finished my first tri last Saturday. Yay! I'm hooked, and I'd like to have a cheering section for the next one, probably in July. Even though I'm a strong swimmer, I don't have much motivation to do OWS, so I've been looking at pool sprints. I felt soooo good after finishing my race last week, I think I'm hooked, too. It's nice to get to know everyone on this awesome team a little better. Now aren't we missing a few intros still? Where is that Sal? He needs to tell us how much he loves
Oy! Busy weekend...son's graduation, 21 mile bike, yard work, son's grad party, church, open water swim, wife's parents still in town...I think you get the idea... Thanks for calling me out on the intros Amy... Starting in a new position at work, so things have been hectic... It's taper time for my half Ironman, so things should calm down a little...I'll post my intro by end of day... |

Well, my race wasn't totally rained out... through a series of unfortunate events, however... I was...OUT that is... Wasn't feeling well yesterday... still not feeling well today... think I've ended up with stomach flu complete with achy neck and spine.... After ending up dehydrated this morning I tried to recover... combine this with the 50 degree temps and rain this morning (that I was not prepared for) and that put me out.... They canceled the bike and shortened the swim to 500m. My wetsuit did great though (8 or 9 min time)... coworker showed up with slvless shortie and water temp was 48 degrees... I let her use my wetsuit... I AM signing up for race next Sat... it's perfect...just down the road from where I live early morning start (hubby's on call) and is within the organization I work (county parks and rec) Now we'll see if I can get dinner down and feelin' better for church tomorrow... all I wanta do is sleep.... Get better. Glad you got a spot in next Saturday's tri! |

One of these slow days I will do an Oregon and Joshua Tree Album so you can see how pretty that area is if you have not been there yet! Thanks for all the inspires while I was traveling and sorry for not returning them - too busy playing most of the time. Have a great week of training and time to hit the pool/weight room so I can get to 100% so I don't have guilt ridden last week training syndrome! Tease! |

The bike is gonna be my BIG temptation this weekend. I definitely don't have as many bike miles in that I had planned on, and I know if I don't hold back there will be consequences!
