bcart1991 - 2009-03-16 10:31 AM I'm about to pony up for an upgraded membership, just for a more detailed training plan. Sure, I can mix up my workout intensity myself, but I have no idea if I'm doing it right or not. :shifty

That's why I did it.  I like how they mix up workouts to keep it kind of fresh.

Is the silver that much better than the bronze, is it worth the extra ghita's to upgrade??

I think so.  The silver plans are MUCH better, IMO.  The bronze just don't offer enough detail.  The leap to gold is good if you want/need online support on the plans.  I can figure them out, so took a pass on the gold.  AND, if I had any serious issue on the plans, even without paying for the gold, I have gotten responses from the coaches who wrote them when asked.

It must be spring! Yesterday on my bike ride I heard birds singing and smelled cow manure! Today I was able to run in shorts. Didn't have the shorts getting bunched up problem. There must be something to this weight loss stuff. My wife made me buy a size smaller jeans. I didn't want to yet. I wanted to wait until I dropped another size.

Tres bien! Feels good, doesn't it?

I did the same thing (minus the wife part, but that's another story) and I'm picking up new (smaller) clothes when I can.

Well St Patty's day started off slow. My daughter was up most of the night sick. Stomach bug going around. My wife worked from home and decided to take the day off. Since the weather ws going to awesome I decided to make the best of the day. I picked up my new bike I had on lay-away. Went for 21 miler. I was very, pleased how nice the bike rode. Shifting was flawless. Bikes have come a long way. The last high end road bike I had was a Cannodale R1000 about 6 years ago. Here are some pictures.

Well, second day of swim training with the tri team, monday was drills today was distance work, my form come and goes, but if i can keep up the training i think i can make great strides in the near future. I have also kept my weight down below 240 for the last week and a half, i am 236-237 and keeping it around 240 +/- by days end. Tonight i have a 22 +/- bike on tap after work, should be a quick ride as it is rollers and mostly flat, hopefully the cramps that i had this weekend will not be present.

I got under 230 tonight after my spin class.  But several pounds of that was water weight...  But it's nice to at least see the 220's.

Well, I did it.  Signed up for my second IM.  I'm in for the inaugural Ford Ironman St. George Utah, held next May 1....

It's really close to the house (may jockstrap it after next year).  I REALLY want to get my weight down for that one.

Nice wheels.

No idea why that was a double post.  Didn't happen my end!

Not sure what to do next year.  I have my first OLY this year and a few sprints.  I'm considering a HIM end of next summer.  How much extra training would a half take per week?  I am just about maxed out at the moment on 10 hours.  Could I get away with this do you think?

For an HIM?  Sure.  There might be a couple weeks you might go over with a long ride.  But 10 will work...

I love it when a single bolt of lightning 20 miles away empties the pool 45 minutes from closing.

Oh well, I'll be there longer for sure tonight.

That's funny. This morning there was a fire drill/alarm that cleared the pool.
I was almost done.

Went for the longest ride in a long time. 1:48, 24 miles. Pretty hilly. Some 11% grades. Tried sole Clif Shot Bloks, Margarita flavor. Very, tasty. Felt pretty, good. Think I made the right choice with the road bike.
