Way to ease back into it. Sounds like a smart plan. My buddy has been trying to convince me that my HM recovery should begin with an easy 2-3 miles the day after the race, and back to normal by Wednesday. Then again, he's a Navy Seal and is a freak like that...

KOM - 2009-11-04 12:27 PM Hello Team!

Welcome KimK!

I've been spending the morning making up CDs for a friend's 60th birthday. I love the 60s & 70s music......well actually I love it all!  Made a Woodstock disc, Motown disc, Rock Out disc (Stones, Zepplin, Steppenwolf etc) and Hanging Out disc (Beatles, Paul Simon etc).  The party is Saturday and we are going in 60s attire.  Should be yet another occasion to embarass the hell out of the teenage children!!

Thanks! I also love the 60's&70's.... I teach Active older adult classes at the Y and get to make some great playlists!

Artemis - 2009-11-04 10:29 AM Ok...now I am all caught up!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

I went for a run at the gym this morning.  First one since September 30th!!!  Wow, am I SLOW!  But, I got it done and I can't wait for the next one on Friday.

Congrats on getting back on the road!  After a month I bet it felt good just to be out there

Thanks!  It was a treadmill, but still, I was happy.

Starting to train again has made me feel a lot better emotionally.  I feel really happy today after running.
Yeah for exercising again!!  Nice work!

I agree about the moods! Hubby always knows when I need to go for a run!

Artemis - 2009-11-04 3:28 PM I know everyone is for post-padding, but is it possible to avoid the one or two word posts?  It is quite frustrating for people who can't read all day to catch up on the thread.

sorry just had to see if I could take up a whole page!

I do understand that.  On the other hand, there are people who can't check regularly.  It is so frustrating to come back to 10 pages of posts and feel like you can't catch up and be part of the conversation anymore.  I'd hate for that to happen.

Jen.

im glad to be in a challenge again with you, its been awhile, and believe me staying on top of what's happening in a thread can be a secondary challenge inandofitself.  i was on the Ghoulies last month, we blew through five threads in one month....course i was one of the main contributors.

maybe a team that isnt as chatty would work better for ya?

i would hate for you to be frustrated.

just a thought.

Hm. Jen is no stranger to "chatty teams." Believe me, she's not.

I understand the issue of pages-upon-pages of only one-word posts though. They do make the thread hard to read.

And they also can scare off people who want to contribute to the team thread.

So, I'm actually with Jen on this. I love chatty teams! I think they absolutely rock. But how about if we go with "one thought posts" as a minimum? (And yes, I do understand that some replies are just "LOL" or whatever. That's fine, and not what I'm talking about here.)

Does this make sense?

Yeah, I'm leaving in about 5 min. I didn't have lunch today either, which isn't helping. My brain is oatmeal.

I'm sure the table issue isn't a big deal. I'll check it out after I:
a) Go home
b) Take Comeandgetit outside.
c) Eat something.

Ouch! The active older adults at my Y are all 75+ and aren't into anything written after 1955.  Everyone from the 60s & 70s are in spin class with me.....hate to think I'm an active older adult.....

West Allis is a suburb of Milwaukee - it's hard to tell the border of Milwaukee and West Allis.  I was actually born in the hospital there.

When I got home from work, a Heath bar just jumped into my mouth before I could do anything about it. And then so did a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. And then a Take 5.

Yum!  I love Take5!

I'm happy there is no candy here.  It's way easier to resist!  I'm having some fat-free chocolate pudding instead.  It's not a bad substitute, but definitely not the real thing.

One of my favorites!!!

KOM - 2009-11-03 10:16 PM How did you all like the Q1 ride?  I skipped over to Q3 on Monday because it was longer.  Will do Q1 Thursday.  I always have a playlist for the rides.  I can post them if anyone is interested....

This may be addressed in the several pages I missed while at work today, but if no one else has expressed interest I would love to see what you playlist looks like.
