scout21 - 2010-01-10 9:49 AM I think my loss was party deyhdration after a double workout the day before.  I stepped on the scale today and was back at 165.  But I'll leave my goal at my new adjusted goal.  This has been great motivation.  It definitely helped me make some good decisions over the last week.

Scout

Helped me too.  Way too easy at those week-long events to eat too much and knowing that I was publicly accountable to you all definitely made a difference.  Good for you to stick with the goal... just do one of those double workouts before your end-of-month weigh in :-)  I've updated your goal as well Brian.  Left the originals in parenthesis for reference ;-)

Today's workout is cleaning and vacuuming before guests come later.  Hope to get in a double workout tomorrow after work.  We'll see how the next 36 hours unfolds.  My schedule is not really my own until a week from Monday.  Just have to take what I can get until then.

I need to suck it up. I have let a lot of little things slip this week diet wise. Plus, I am upping my running miles. Increase miles. Increase appetite. Just need to pick "cleaner" food options while increasing my calories.

x3.  I did my kick drills today solely because I promised Stu that I would!  Don't take this the wrong way, Stu, but I was cursing you on the last 50m.  Wink

I hope everyone had a good weekend.  I'll check everyone's logs tomorrow morning.  For now, it's time for bed...

Slow Trutle, our tree is still up as well, but it is coming down tomorrow along with the outside lights.  I managed to sneak in a 7.5 mile run this afternoon.  It was a pretty nice day given the time of year (periods of sun and overcast).

Core workout tomorrow.

Our tree is still up too.  And the outside lights...I'm waiting for a day that's not windy, and not frigid before getting up on the ladder to get them down.  All of the other Christmas stuff is down and back in the rubbermaid bins.  Not put away yet, because the tree has to go in the closet first....

What's on tap for the day people?  Not sure about my workday, and my boy has basketball practice tonight, so I'll be on the trainer after he's in bed tonight.  Jorge, week 1 day 3.  I'm really enjoying these workouts in a sick kind of way!

Life keeps happening. Keeping some late nights beacuse of some business issues. Killing morning workouts. Moving workouts to right afterwork. Hopefully there will not be as much pressure on me and family to get to bed so early.

Spinning class tonight followed by swim.

Good morning everyone.  In a rare turn of events, I got great news at work this morning, so I'm in a good mood.

Mondays are my easy days, so just a relatively easy swim is in the cards for me today.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Michael, congrats on the news at work!!

Our Trees(one upstairs, one downstairs. The wife loves Christmas) are both down. The outside lights are another story entirely. It's gotta break 40 before I even consider taking them down.

Got in a 6.5 mile run yesterday and will get on the trainer tonight after work

Ugh! No work out for me today! Last minute emergency at work kept me late, then family commitments. Now that it's 9:40 at night, my 3 year old won't fall asleep. That means I can't get on the bike trainer tonight.

Maybe it's a good thing. I've been having some pain across the top of my foot. I think a day or 2 of rest might not be a bad idea.

I had an interesting workout tonight. My schedule is all screwed up. That combined with the New Years crowd, I was kicked from my regular 5:30 spinning class. So I went ahead and got my swim in. OMG 1200m swim workout. I am really jazzed about my swim workout. Eight weeks ago, I could hardly keep my head above water. Here is the kicker. After the swim, I went to the next cycling class. Do I hear the word "brick"? This was one of those workouts were you really feel like you are actually making progress.

Awesome!

I had an interesting workout tonight.  Jorge is doing his best to kick my butt.  3 10 minute intervals the day after my first outside long run in a few weeks....my quads are screaming at me!  Swimming tomorrow morning, and maybe a 5 or 6 mile run at lunch if work allows...

Phil I'm glad getting kicked out of spin turned into a good thing! I love it when you have a great workout day. Not today for me, but tomorrow yes there's tomorrow. The city I live in just started a tri club, I went to the first meeting tonight, it will be fun to get to know some triathletes in the community. Michael I appreciate your comments on my logs, yes that should have been a run!

Phil, you brickish stud, great job!

Hey, to those of us who lost some serious lbs last week... keep it up.  No slipping!  (I am mainly wagging my finger at myself).  To those who didn't... this is your week... c'mon now!

Good morning all.  No slipping, eh?  You should have told me that last night.  I went out with the family last night and ate too much.  But I guess I must have been somewhat virtuous the rest of the day, because the damage this morning wasn't evident on the scale.

But this week is a 'recovery' week for me -- a bit less volume, as I've been building pretty consistently for a few weeks and I need to recover from that before starting to build again.  So I'll definitely need to be careful about what goes into my mouth!

I hope you all have a great day.  Let us know how you're getting on, and keep those stories of breakthrough workouts coming!  I love it!

I finally took down my stuff yesterday. It was only about 40-45 degrees, which ordinarily would be unusually cold, but after the cold spell we've had it was almost balmy. With the tree gone I feel like I have half my living room back.

Still to chilly to bike, but I've been hitting the spin bike at the gym, along with a little weight training. Run tomorrow.

I snoozed on signing up for the Miami 70.3 (sold out last week) so now I have no HIM to cap my season. I'm thinking maybe I do a HIM this summer (Rhode Island?) and finish with an oli in Oct/Nov. Anyone have any suggestions for an east coast fall HIM?

Hey gang,

Apologies for my absence of late. I had to leave town unexpectedly last week and just got back yesterday.  I'm leaving tomorrow for San Francisco and will be gone for another week.

I've gotten a few jogs and hikes in of late, but no cycling or swimming.  I start my 'official' 70.3 training plan next Tuesday.  I'm toast!

Thanks for everybody’s encouraging words! I have a 4.5 mile run tonight. I’m really getting itchy to get on a "real" bike. I have a Cannondale Synapse 5 sitting in lay-a-way. Can't ride it anyways because of the cold and the wife won't let me put it on the credit card. Doh! Plus I really wanted to get down to 220 before I take a bike on the road and I have a few more pounds to shed.

I had an Indoor Cycling Class this morning for an hour and will try (depends on the rain) to double up this evening with a 4 mile run.  I am attempting to get my runs in early this week as I will be resting Friday and Sat. in my attempt at my first 10K Race on Sun.

I am looking at under 60 min. for a goal (very doable) and a stretch goal of 55 min. or less.  If I can sustain a 8:51 min. per mile pace than 55 min. is also doable.  I generally negative split my training runs so even if I am a bit short on the first half I think I can make it up.  I'll have a little laminated card with my mile split goals on it just so I know where I am suppose to be.  I am planning to use my HRM and watch to track my splits.  Don't want to mess with the IPOD Nike + Sensor; too much hassle.

On the weight loss front I seem to be up some last night.  Not sure why; maybe the additional consumption of water this weekend trying to stay extra hydrated.  My weight fluctuates so much from day to day.  Only towards the end of the week does it tend to settle down some and become more regular.  Anyone else with this issue?

I had a good day today.  2500 yards in the pool and a 4 mile lunch time run.  Here's to hoping that I can control myself at dinner.  Spare ribs are cooking in the crock pot right now.  My son asked last night if we could have ribs for dinner....I LOVE that kid!

I may try and get back in the pool tomorrow.  I did send an email to the Y asking if any of their swim instructors can do stroke correction...hopefully they'll have good news for me...

Scout

BTW, weight tends to fluctuate a great deal from day to day.  I step on the scale daily to monitor myself, but I only weigh in once a week, every Friday morning.
