I am finding out today that this will be a bad idea. I have a Serfas bike case that I will use instead. I just hope to find a taxi that will be able to handle it. Thanks again. A lot of the taxis are vans so you shouldn't have a problem fitting your bike case in one of them. Both my husband and I had soft bike cases and we didn't have any issues getting a cab large enough to fit them. |

I just got done with IMFL so my time has been taken up over in that forum and in my brain, but now it's time to focus on COZ. Taking this week easy then next week I'll just have to get what I can in without burning out. COZ should be interesting but a whole lot of fun. I get in Friday to Cancun then have to take the bus/ferry to Cozumel. Any plans for meet-ups Friday evening or Saturday. I didn't get the chance to meet anyone at FL because of a crazy tight schedule I had. I'm staying at the Hotel Boutique Vista Del Mar. Steve you are an animal doing Cozumel right after Florida! |

I have done my packing list and will be putting everything in big ziplocs so it is organized when I start unpacking and I will not have to think 2 much about what goes where. My husband has a shirt that says "140.6 miles...when I get my wife back".....he really has been a trooper! Picking up my bike case today! My coach is lending me his ;-) |

This being my first Ironman I'm sure there are little things to pack that can help you come race day. Please share Hi! Some where on this forum there is a "race day checklist" which is awesome. You can add things to it and then print it out which is what I did. Here are some of the things that I have added, some may apply to you others u may think I am nuts! Small ziploc bags (to put my stuff inside the bike bag, special needs bag, etc so stuff just does not fly all over) extra set of goggles (practice swim, etc) My nutrition stuff (NUUN, bonk bars, cliff blocks, extra salty pretzels) INSECT REPELLENT (2 small ones...one for prior the run and one for my running special needs bag just in case, I have heard the mosquitoes are incredible!) body glide (2...one for one of the special needs bag) TUMS! headlamp I would love to know what others are packing though! Hope this helps. Alicia |

The Original 7834 Raleigh/Durham | Subject: RE: IronMan Cozumel : Official Thread Just so you all know- if there's any food.snacks you'll need there's a HUGE grocery store close to the finish line called "Mega" where you can get anything you'll need last minute- Gatorade, bottled water, pretzels, ziplock bags, etc. It's just like a Super Wal-Mart and they have everything. It just makes it a bit easier in case you don't want to pack all that and just it while you're there. Or in case you forget anything. |

Got in most of my swim today and running a half marathon tomorrow. Not sure if I will get in my biking this weekend, but I plan to be bike centric next week anyway. What do you all have planned? |

Master 1402 Cumming, Georgia | Subject: RE: IronMan Cozumel : Official Thread Last long ride before the race is done. Pacing and nutrition seems to be figured out. NOw I've got to stick to that on race day. My mind is consumed with race day now. I was hoping this wouldn't happen so soon but I am so excited to attempt my first Ironman. Countless hours of neglecting my wife, house, yard combined with hours upon hours of training alone is almost over. Congrats to everyone that has made it this far and I hope to see everyone at the finish line in 2 weeks and 1 day! |

14 | Subject: RE: IronMan Cozumel : Official Thread Firstly, good luck to everyone competing in IM Cozumel, I've just done my first IM in Florida, and trust me, if I can do it, anyone can. Having enjoyed it so much I'm looking to do Cozumel next year and wanted to know how quickly it gets booked up? I know Florida is within an hour or so of opening online, hopefully Cozumel isn;t quite as bad. Anyway, any information welcome, and best of luck to you all |

Veteran 283 | Subject: RE: IronMan Cozumel : Official Thread All of my stuff is slowly starting to take over one of our guest bedrooms. The latest edition was 2 - 1 oz bottles of bug spray. One for t2 and the other for run special needs. The travel size section of Target is good. They have mini sunscreens and mini vaseline tubes! |

Regular 52 kapolei, | Subject: RE: IronMan Cozumel : Official Thread Well, did a great two-hour ride this morning and now packing up my bike for the long journey. The next 5 days will take me from the Philippines to Hong Kong for a day, then San Diego via LAX to take in the MNF game against the Broncos, then Houston for an overnight layover getting into Cozumel on the 24th. Race goal: Just finish. If I make the Sunday Night Football kickoff between the Chargers and the Colts with a cold beer in hand, I'll be elated....heck, even if it's the 2nd half kickoff I'll be happy! Good luck everyone! |
