Wife races also so she is all over it.

and Hello from Chicago.  For today, tomorrow in Chicago also, then to Sandstone MN.  Plan on taking the trainer to the gym tomorrow and riding there.  Gotta do what you can while on the road.

Love Chicago. Never been to Sandstone. Never heard of it either. I used to travel for work and was always more consistent with my workouts then when I was at home. I had a routine and didn't have anyone to interfere with it when I was out of town, except for when my wife wanted to tag along and do the tourist thing.

dalessit - 2010-07-14 10:24 AM Ok, entered my last 2 workouts, so getting close.

I'm heading out of town for the next 2 weeks on vacation, but brining my bike so will still get my workouts done, might not be on as much during that time but I'll at least get them posted.

What were we thinking scheduling a trip during the TdF...
Too bad you didn't schedule a trip TO the TdF.

One of these days.

Wife and I are really thinking about doing one of the classics tours, they take you around you get to ride some of the courses and get VIP seating for them.

That would be a blast, but my wife would be doing typical tourist stuff while I do the tour stuff.
As long as you're both happy.....

As blasphemous as it may be, I would rather be with my wife then see the TDF. It would drive me crazy not to see it but I would still rather be with my wife. She would sacrifice a day to see the tdf though.

Wow its been quiet today. I was the last one to post and that was six hours ago.

I got a good ride in during lunch. Didn't feel like I was working harder but I was able to cut a minute and a half off my usual time. I must be making progress.

Went for a ride last night and realized how good I have it hear on the west coast.  It was super hot (93 degrees) and humid.  It was raining giant hot raindrops and my ride STUNK!  I had to cut my 28 mile planned ride down to 14.  I just had no energy.  I have so much respect for everyone who trains in those hot and humid conditions.  Ugh!

That sounds awesome.  My husband has no interest.  I've talked about doing one with my dad.  He rides all the time and is the reason I started biking.

We were way too far down on the page.  Hopefully my post padding helps with that.

I blame Tony.  It can't possibly be Dee's fault.

I would love to do one of those bike tour vacations.  No one in my family will ride.  My older brother rides some but this is the first he's been on his bike in years and would probably not be game for a bike tour since his wife would never ride.

Jen, I vote WE go for a bike tour vacation and leave the families home.

I would have done that but somehow felt the need to go outside....dumb azz....(me)

John wanted to know why I didn't just take Speed Demon out.  Well, I need to inflate those tires too and now that the floor pump is broken and both co2 cartridges are spent without inflating my tire and I had to finagle the pneumatic pump to inflate the tube I did change I wan't messing with that bike in my frustrated state of mind.

Good job getting the ride in. I think you should log the rest of the ordeal as some strength training.
