I swam today but the snow is actualy fallig now....,,.not too sure about a run......depends on how slick it is.  Sure as heck don't want to fall and injure the gastrocs again.  My guess is the gym is going to close early due to weather.

Did I mention that at least 6 counties canceled sdchool last night, many hours BEFORE the first snowflake?  Gotta love living in the south!!!

:
This just makes me laugh out loud...  Laughing

laugh more, it's canceled for tomorrow too.
Honestly, while to us northerners it's insane....the reality is that they simply don't have the plows, salt or manpower knowledgeable about driving in said slop to keep schools open.  The bus drivers are pathetic on a good day!  The one who drives my daughters bus likes to go about 30 mph in all weather and doesn't like to stop at stop signs.

QueenZipp - 2010-12-17 6:38 AM Snowy run of 2.42 miles tonight.

Very cautious with footing......

Your running is progressing so well, you must be happy!

Yes, cautious though.  Not sure if I'm going to bump up the distance again this week or wait til next week.  Feeling like I need to err on the side of caution.
Also need to do more of a warm up than walk up my little hill, going to have to start with 5-10 minutes on the trainer I think, like I did in PT.

You take it easy on the ice!

Let's make injury and illness free an unofficial crusher goal for January.

Emmanem - 2010-12-16 2:27 PM I ran!!!  Almost 2 weeks off thanks to being sick and man did it show.  Running is such an unforgiving sport.  Only did 1.2 miles but I felt it in my legs... gotta get my butt back in shape!

Welcome back! Here's to a healthy and productive January!

And rest of December I guess... although I have already checked out.

pdbman - 2010-12-16 2:32 PM I just shut down the server that my career has been based on. Its a sad day. The question is do I stick with the job I have and go in a new direction or find a new job and stay with what I'm familiar with. Finding a new job and staying with what I know has more potential for the future but jobs aren't easy to find right now.

It doesn't hurt to learn new things, if you like your company. If you don't you could consider the alternative.

Good luck with the decision making!

rh8463 - 2010-12-15 6:23 PM My news for the day.

I really like my new muay thai trainer - starting there officially after the Christmas break

Also just entered my next tri, a sprint again, for Jan 16th so no slacking over Christmas for me!

Good to hear! Get some pics of you in action?

MT action or tri action? I'm going with tri since I actually don't have any mt action pics anyway, just videos. My hubby took a few last weekend so here are a couple of the latest.

First is my favourite part of the swim - getting out!

Second is halfway round the run, fine execution of jazz hands according to my husband.

Look at the muscle definition in that first pic!! Amazing!

Have you always been this fit or is it something you developed later in life?

pdbman - 2010-12-16 5:23 PM Went for a lunch time run. One thing about running this time of year is you don't have to worry about being really sweaty when you get back to the office.

I got back just in time for some excitement. They had some old printers that they're getting rid of so instead of dumping them in the dumpster or sending them to the recycler, they dropped them off the roof. Except for the big one they couldn't lift so they rolled it down the emergency exit stairs. The parking lot is a mess. When they shovel things up they'll bundle them up on a pallet and send them to the recyclers. I wonder what the recyclers will think when they get them.

I still get sweaty in the winter... Unless I went out in just a t-shirt and shorts.

I was sweating so much one day last week I thought a bird crapped on me, but it was just a build up of perspiration on my headband that tipped. What a sexy visual...

Thank you
I do quite like that first pic!

I was always very sporty in school, had a bit of a blip after school because nothing was organised for me, then I got sporty again but its kind of taken off in the last couple of years. Starting to run with a running club and in races lead to the first decent improvement a few years back and then the muay thai has worked wonders for me. I'm slightly obsessive to be fair but I figure there are worse things to be obsessed with!

I'm thankful that I don't smell too bad after a workout, unless it is HARDCORE. Oh, and no underarm hair!

A very sexy convo for the missing crushers to catch up on indeed... hair, smells, sweat...

Eek, still no one.

After I shower I put Moroccan Oil in my hair. It smells AMAZING and makes my hair so soft. I picked it up at the salon last time I went.

I started out with a fleece pullover, hat and gloves but lost them all part way through the run because it was getting warm. It's amazing how little it takes to keep you warm when running in the cold.

What? You don't do time travel??? I do it all the time. Um, in my head, at least.... For example, I had 6 hours of meetings the other day. I did a LOT of time traveling then. A *whole* lot of it.... I even went to an island in the Caribbean for awhile.... (I wish.)

Speaking of islands in the Caribbean, I got to spend 7 weeks on an island in the Caribbean one year. But before you get too jealous, it was for work and we didn't get to go to any resorts or anything. Just work crazy hours. In fact it was Trinidad and they don't have any resorts. We did have one day off where we drove around the island to check things out. Wonderful place and wonderful people but its not the typical Caribbean island.

I'm feeling very un-motivated. I've been looking into getting my bike fixed. To replace the components with the same level that it currently has will cost $700+. I just can't justify that much money for an old bike and I don't have the cash to buy a new one, not that I have that much cash to repair my old one with Christmas around the corner. Dang, what happened to that bonus check I got two weeks ago?
