Hi all...WAY TO QUIET IN HERE!!!!

Nice swim Mark...are you getting gills yet??????????

Michelle, my knee is no where near normal. I have just gotten off crutches yesterday. I still have discomfort with weight bearing especially toward the end of the day. It actually feels good to bike very easy with minimal resistance. It mobilizes the fluid in my knee. Swimming is getting easier each day.

This MONTH is the month of the IM...try to get the IM or HIM distance. Mark you can do a double IM!!! LOL
This is March, and race season is just around the corner

Ring Ring Hello...... Passing thoughts from the swim lane.

Where do you find inspiration?

For me, it's in the laundry room.  How does anyone find inspriation in dirty laundry.  My Triathlon Calander hangs on the wall next to the dryer.  Every morning I pack my workout bags in the laundry room.   Every morning this month, I'll see the start of the swim at IMAz.  WOW!  I mean goose bumps for real, Wow..  Thats motivation.  Thats a sight I want to see for real, some day.  If I train and dedicate just a little bit more of my self each day, I'll see that Ironman swim start in person some day.

I'm right there with you...

I was doing great, and then it all fell apart.  Now I'm worrying that I won't make my distances in *23* days.

I'm running tonight.  not going to over do it.

sigh.

I hate having to start over, but I *will* make this tri.

if I have to crawl, walk the bike, and doggy paddle, I *will* make it.

Oh I know its no where near normal, I just phrased that wrong. I am just curious as to how it feels after your swim or bike...do they bother it at all or are you being smart and not pushing it

@Michelle - Welcome back,  We made it to another page. woot woot.

Next question - What do you say or do when you pass another racer, runner or cyclist.
Do you have a secret wave, that only you know about.  do tell.

Loudly * LEFT*

When I did my IM I would tell everyone that"I am going to be an Ironman today" I got lots of cheers from the crowd...not so much from those I passed.

I saw my PT today and I am good to go on the bike and swim...still not fast, but happy to be back at it. It will be a while before I run.

Where the heck is everyone!!!!!

I'll tell if you tell

Ok, ok...i'll go first...Depending on the circumstances I will yell "on your left" however I have found that sometimes scares the crap out of some folks so I kind of judge the situation. Also, if I see someone out in front of me I make it my goal to pass them. This backfires on me sometimes as I tend to push too hard at times and when its supposed to be an easy run...well, you get the idea. In a race I focus on the person in front of me and do the same thing...it becomes my goal to pass them

Now, if I'm passing someone in the other direction I always say hi or wave...I have found that I always try and keep a smile on my face. It reminds me that what I am doing is for fun above all else ~ the health and racing aspect are just a positive benefit Plus when I feel like i'm going to keel over and die, it tends to make my run, bike, whatever seem easier and reminds me that i'm just lucky to be able to be doing something I thouroughly enjoy!!

What do I say?  On the run I encourage them, "1 more mile at pace", or "you ready for 7:45, lets go", or " lets catch that guy'. If the group I'm in moves up tempo thats good for me.   There is nothing worse than being in no mans land between pace groups.

On the bike, I respect everyone.  Of course I'm loud with on your left.  But sometimes you're riding close to the same peeps for 15 seconds.  Not all passes happen in the blink of an eye.  I always find something positive to say about their bike or form.  My favorite is sexy wheels, but not for dudes.  They might be in my age group.   Riders coming in the other direction, who have already made it out to the turnaround point and are coming back, when I make eye contact, I show my respect by bringing my left hand up from aero position to the brim of my helmet and back to areo in a smooth salute.

But If its time to blow their shorts off, the phrase that pays is "Have a nice day".  I'm out there to have fun. lots and lots of fun.

Morning All,

Spring is only 2 weeks away! Not that long before tri season starts!YAY

One Faller ...where are you???

Tkr, glad to see you back

Mark...I think you could do that HIM today

Michelle, are you done studying?

Yesterday I went to a new Masters swim class. The coach used to work with Terry Lauglin who wrote Total Immersion swimming. There were only two of us there. It was pretty great. Even though I am not swimming a 100% I think this class will help me improve.

I am up to biking 40 minutes. It feels pretty good. I see the ortho doc today

I'm here...

I did a one mile run on the 4th, and then went to the beach (outer banks) to do some work on one of dad's houses.  Didn't get to run Yesterday, but will get out today after I get back home...

Heya! I am happy to say I am all done with school for 2 weeks. Next up is Juvy Justice and i'm actually excited about this class...at least until its homework time

I had planned a short run today with the kiddo and dog but Sam just wasn't up for it so I decided to wait until this afternoon. Well, now my hubby will be home soon so I have informed him that he will be joining us...lucky him, huh?!

This week is a pretty low volume week so I should have lots of time to play...yeah!!

Hey Michelle - why don't you take the man and Sammi for a run half you normal distance, then circle back, drop them off and then finish your second half on your own.  You can decide which is the better half.  Congrates on finishing another Q.

Worked with a trainer today. He gave me a change up for the strength exercises. I was getting very bored with the ones in the program.

Still not sure what to do from mid April when this program ends and June 19th when I do the sprint.

Yeah Michelle, no homework.

Way to go Mav, you really are on the mend.

I did not make the challenge, for Feb. But I'm in for the IM for March.

That was a great idea Mark but I read it too late. Oh well, my hubby was thrilled that I had asked him to go with me knowing that he would not be able to go far or fast so that was worth it Since he retired from the Army (in September) he has not ran or anything so I am trying to get him back into it!

Thanks for the congrats...I'm thrilled that I get two weeks off though!!
