Just stopping by to say hello and let everyone know I'm alive.  My legs are quite fried.  Working on soft stretching and pressure point massage.   The brite side is all my aches are muscle related which usually take around 2-3 days to recover.  I've been here before.  The only unusual is some soreness in my right foot.  I recall exactly when my foot complained loudly.  With just 2 miles to go my right leg cramped and locked out.  I took about three stiff legged strides before putting on the breaks on the run to work out the complete quad, hamstring, and calf cramp.

Cheers

Glad you are taking the time to recover. During this time try to write a race report...not only because we all want to know how it was, but because it will give you refrence to go back and see what went well and what you need to do differently. Especially true for the longer distance races. I often go back and read my race reports from several years ago.

Glad you enjoyed your race...you worked very hard!!!!

I'm almost back to normal after Sundays main event.  Regarding the race report, I've written the story up to the middle of the run.  There is an interesting parallel.  Its getting harder to write about the hardest part of the race.

Ran my first off-road mini of the year. Wish i had gotten there more this year, i love that race !
Funny thing happened after the race. Okay, rewind to the beginning. I was rushing like crazy to get to the start, 25 min of traffic on the road into the venue from the highway (yeesh!) Luckily i had my tri shorts on under my shorts so got down to the transition area registered, setup and away i went.

Fast forward to the end of the race. Showered and went to get dressed - oops, i left my shorts in the car! Had a shirt, under wear and flip flops. So i put what i had on and wrapped my towel around my waist, thru my backpack on and started riding back t

o my car. Got one cute comment "Nice Skirt" on my way back, then my "nice skirt" came unwrapped. So i rode the rest of the way back in my underwear. Nice huh?

Bob - It's a good thing you didn't forget your helment.  Thats a DQ penalty.   No rules against Skirts.

It's not a man purse, it's my transition bag.

Ride Safe

Bob...THAT IS A FUNNY STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I have been so absent lately. My parents have finally left for Florida and my life will return to normal.  What ever that means!

The good news is I AM RUNNING!!!!!! Three days now I have been able to run virtually pain free. My hope is to be able to do a few sprints before the summer ends. I may do Beach to Battleship IM aquabike for fun Have to see if I can work it into my "work" schedule. Damn the job thing gets in the way!!!!

Marianne - Great to hear that your running is going so well !!

Did the WT offroad for the second time tuesday night. We had quick, but heavy, downpour come thru right before the race start, which means it was the Winding Trails MUDFEST!! A little mud in the eye, but it's soo much fun to race in the mud.

Going for a Double/Mini week this week. Lake T (on-road) mini tonite!

Did the Double-mini last week! Going to try to make it to the WT off-road mini again tonite.
Did an 8 mile run Saturday Morning, which was a long way for me and it was hot even with a 7am start. Planning on doing another 8 miles on Saturday, same group.

Went for a 35 mile ride Sunday morning down around the beach. What a gorgeous morning !! Love the beach early in the morning, so peaceful.

The running group is doing some hill work Wednesday, i may try to make it there too.

I'll be helping at the Xterra series off-road triathlon this weekend (1.5 km Swim, 30 km Mountain Bike, 11 km Trail Run).    Nothing else of note.

I'm on the IMAZ volunteer list for this years race.  2012 is going to be a very good year.
Last year first Oly, this year first HIM, next year IM.  Nothing wrong with starting my positive  visualization early.  Long course training plan is a work in progress.  Right now I'm having fun racing short courses.
