F1longhorn - 2011-07-24 6:11 PM Awesome info, any update for a guess on a pre-order? Any chance I could be racing on Flo's by the end of October?

I'm not sure if you heard but our Chinese carbon factory fell through.  They promised us the world up front, took our money, and then didn't come through.  We lost our molds and a ton of money.  We were forced to head to Taiwan to find a new carbon factory.  We are currently finalizing details with our new factory and hope to open new molds within the next few weeks.  You can read about he whole thing here  It's looking like the new year for our wheels.  Sorry we won't be able to help you out in October.

Take care,

Chris

I had heard about the Chinese factory troubles but hadn't heard of any estimates on how long it takes to ramp things up in Taiwan, the 2012 timeline is new info so thanks! You guys sure did get the short end of the stick but hopefully things will turn around with the new factories and we can start seeing Flo wheels in transition for 2012.

Seeing FLO wheels in transitions will be a dream come true.  Thanks for your support and understanding our situation.  We promise we will be selling wheels as soon as humanly possible!

Take care,

So can we expect Chinese made knockoffs of Flo wheels showing up on ebay any time soon?

Wink

Sucks to hear that man, hope you guys can recover.

Our molds should already be in transit to America.  Unfortunately our new factory cannot reuse them.  Our main priority was to get them out of the factories hands.  We'll recover.  We are stubborn

We do a ton of business in China.  That is the way it is unless you are on the inside and can be there to supervise.  I hope it works out.  Still interested in getting a set.

Unfortunately sometimes you have to learn the hard way.  We are still pressing forward and should as a result have a much better product.  Thanks for the kind words and for your interest!

We are back!  We have just signed a deal with our new factory and we are back on track.  It's been a long journey.  Thank you all for your continued support.  You can read the details here...

http://bit.ly/n8An5c

So do I ask for them for Christmas or plan on using my tax return?

Translation: when are you expecting to have them for US sales?

We are shooting for the early 2012 season.  So your tax return may work out better

tri808 - 2011-09-28 4:41 PM Has the price point changed with the new factory deals?

We are still targeting the same prices.  IF they do change I don't see anything substantial.

Our current estimates are as follows...

Fronts (FLO 60 and FLO 90) $375

Rears (FLO 60 and FLO 90) $425

FLO DISC $499

Now that I am considering a 1/2 Aquabike, these are looking real tempting. Any weight restrictions on the wheels? Are they clydesdale friendly? Good luck, and cannot wait to see the finished product

Yes... we are only offering aluminum clincher wheels with carbon fiber fairings.

Hope that helps,

Our standard wheels (20 front spokes and 24 rear spokes) are recommended for up to 190lbs and our clydesdale wheels (20 front spokes and 28 rear spokes) will be recommended for up to ~230lbs.

Thanks for the support!

Since you are using a fairing, you're going to be using internal nipples. Do you know the diameters of the spoke holes? It would be great to take advantage of the velocity veloplugs to not only save weight but be able to retension the spokes without removing/replacing rimtapes. They come in 2 sizes 8mm and 8.5mm.
