Can someone be my Olympic TV guide?

Opening cerimony tonight and it looks to be replayed all day tomorrow according to my Direct TV...

I guess I need to research which channels are showing it and start to muddle through everything to record what I want.  The DVR is going to be working double time the next couple weeks, that's for sure.

Well, I guess there goes my gaming time for another couple weeks.  Too much olympics to watch.

I think it basically comes down to NBC (the main channel and NBC Sports) - and, yes, I think you just need to trawl through the listing for what you want to see and hope they keep to their schedule so you don't end up watching synchronized swimming - unless you want to of course.

The "problem" I have is that I'm such a sports nut, I like just about everything.

The only thing I might be able to pass on is the equestrian stuff.  As a side note, the HORSE should get the medal because it's doing all the heavy lifting.  The rider is just along for the ride...

(ok, over simplifying for humor - don't want to offend any TAN equestrians)

And the coverage of the full spectrum of sports seems better than past years from what I remember.

Me too.  But I like the happy stuff and watching the smiles and such.  Never been a fan of the "overcoming xyz to get there" stories when it comes to the sports.

Neither do I. We all got problems. You're not special.

Ever ridden dressage or steeplechase?

Not offended but you would be suprised how much skill it takes to stay on the back of one of those things as they are going over a gate. Don't even get me started about the skill it takes to sit a saddle while directing a horse through a drassage routine.

Yep I mucked stalls and bucked hay for many years to pay for my riding lessons when I was younger.

For whatever reason, the one with the blue tank and the white stocking cap against the railing.... um, did something for me...

It may just be me, but I see the resemblence, or looks like a stonger version of Rashida Jones.

I stand corrected.

Of course my attempt at humor was factually incorrect.

ETA:  I don't recall ever riding dressage or steeplechase, unless it was by accident.  So my knowledge base is a bit limited.

It was fascinating listening to and reading about Sheila Taormina speaking of when she was learning equestrian to do pentathlon. Extraordinarily, she wound up placing first in that part of the pentathlon, which, like pistol and fencing, was completely new to her not three years before.

I heard it's filthy, scratchy, and stabby work as well.  No thanks.

I would rather save those attributes for the bedroom.

And it makes you all itchy if you're not careful. Bucking that is.
