Good morning Ghoulies!

My coffee from Starbucks was NOT decaf yesterday, and I've felt horrible ever since.

I'm working from home today. I don't like driving when my heart is wonky, sometimes I get lightheaded.

This weekend basketball games started for the kiddos. Caleb's team is 2-0 so far. He only played a little in the first game, the coach played 2 boys who don't have a speck of athletic ability a lot. The game was a blow out, so he kept rotating them in. Yesterday's game was closer and they didn't play, but Caleb did. He does a really good job on defence, but he's nervous on offense. Hopefully he settles down soon.

Keri only had 1 game this weekend, and it was a blowout. The other team was just faster and way more aggressive with the ball. I couldn't tell you how many turnovers our girls had. They did play better the second, so hopefully they continue to improve.

That seems like a big mistake for Starbucks to make.  Hope you feel better!

Morning Ghoulies!

it is MONDAY. (I am trying to make that sound exciting! )

Actually, I have the day off and I am going to do yard work, it is a pretty day and will be in the 70s. Tonight we are having a fire in the fire pit. The only downer is  the Grumpy Old Men meeting I have today.

Enjoy your pretty day!

We have rain.  Shocker!!!   Surprised

Over the weekend, DH started asking about a Christmas tree.  We have not had one for at least 4 years.  We were either traveling, had company (so no room), or had young pups.  I said okay if the armchair (a favorite livingroom chair) can go into his study, and if he would help decorate & undecorate.  He didn't answer right away.  Later he said that he thought just decorating the fireplace and window would be fine.  No tree.    LOL

I ended up in the office today, a piece of equipment died.

I was on the phone with my boss today. He told me that there have been complaints about how much I have been working from home. He told me he's fine with it, and I always come in when called, but he just wanted to give me a heads up. So for now I'm going to lay low, and try to stick to my Friday's. It pizzes me off though. I am here more than half the people. The security person, and the 2 Unix guys are NEVER here. So I really think it is the 2 server people, who have a horrible boss who never lets them work from home and requires them to work 46 hours a week. I hate pettiness and office politics, and this is a combination of the 2. Grrrrr

I am trying to figure out if I can get my carpets cleaned before putting up the trees.  They really need to be done, but I need to get a bunch of stuff cleaned up and put away in the basement first, and I want to get it done before the grandkids get here, soooooo, I'm not sure when we will get this all done, but we will be putting up a couple of trees before the month is out.  LOL

Sorry about the pettiness and office politics.  It always amazes me how childish adults behave.  Maybe look at renegotiating your contract to include more work from home days for the future.

Quiet day at the library so far.  I think everyone is out shopping.

got my office all cleaned up and tomorrow morning I will write the one staff evaluation that is on my plate.  It feels good to be caught up at work.  Now if only I can get caught up at home.  LOL

One out of two ain't bad! I have let things go for so long, it will take YEARS to catch up.

What is this getting stuff done that you speak of?

My goal is to get the house cleaned out of all unnecessary junk.  Whoops!  That is all unnecessary junk except for my hubby and cats.    I am just so tired of having stuff around that has not been used in many years, it is time to just let go.

I would LOVE to do this. My husband, and kiddos are savers. The kids want to save every paper they've ever brought home from school. My husband doesn't like to get rid of manuals we have for appliances that have been long gone. We have boxes of receipts and paperwork that goes back almost 20 years, and he refuses to toss it out. Broken toys, the kids hate to part with them. A lot of things disappear when I'm the only one home.

Ha, our husbands must be related.  He has computer manuals from mainframe computers from 30 years ago.  They are worthless.  Not to mention the non-working PC's that are cluttering up the basement storage area.  I thought we had gotten rid of all of them about 10 years ago, but I guess they just keep multiplying, even though I have the same desk top computer for the past 10 years.  Drives me crazy with all the clutter.  I normally stay out of the basement, but now that we are trying to keep it set up for the grandkids when they visit, I am forced to go down there.

Good morning Ghoulies!

I feel SO much better this morning than I did yesterday morning. It is supposed to be another really warm day here, and we have NOTHING going on this evening.  I know the boy has some homework for his science project to do tonight, but I may take the kiddos to the park for a little bit before we start homework.

My goal for this month is to have a "peachy" month.  I have a pretty low key weight routine I can do at home several times a week on the days I don't run, swim, or do a tougher weight routine at the Y (or rake leaves at home   ).

3 days into it and I am sore.  I will see how this first week goes and hope I adjust to this.  A little soreness isn't bad as long as it eases.

Good morning, Dee!

Can I ask something of you? Would you mind sharing your trouffle recipes?

Don't mind at all.  I got it off of Pinterest.  It is super easy, no cooking egg into the mixture and all of that.

The basic recipe is 8 oz cream cheese, about 4 oz of chocolate bar, and a tub of dipping chocolate.

Beat the cream cheese until  fluffy.  Mix the melted chocolate in.  Form into small balls. Refrigerate for about an hour so that they will hold shape.  Melt the dipping chocolate and dip the balls in and let the excess drip off. The dipping chocolate hardens pretty fast. Store in airtight container.

I kept the undipped balls refrigerated while I dipped a small batch.  The balls have to be cold to hold their shape when dipped into the warm chocolate.  I used toothpicks to dip with.

When you mix in the chocolate, you can add 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter or drops of mint, etc.  The inner ball is not super sweet (I used semi-sweet) but the outer shell is pretty sweet, so it balanced out okay.
