So this week has been busy. I am one tired little monkey. I swam today and I'm about to head out for tomorrow's long run today because my husband is traveling and so that's the only way to get it done. Then Sunday I'm trying a new route for my long ride.

I hope everyone has a successful weekend. For those of you weathering the blizzard I hope it's not too bad I really do.

Amy

Sciatica is a tough one. I have a training buddy that didn't run at all for about 8 weeks before his Ironman because of it. But I think he was able to swim and bike. He still finished successfully for what it's worth.

THANKS AMY!

I am hoping that it only lasts a few days. Pretty cool though, the family has already stepped up and said I am not allowed to do any shoveling this weekend with this incomming snow. I am truly blessed with great kids and a wonderful wife.

Good luck on your run and ride - wish I could Frown

Good Luck David! You are going to do great, keep smiling! Smile

No one is going anywhere up here in Boston. I got snow drifts over 2 feet in my driveway already and the storm isn't even half over. Winds are howling over 50 mph outside my window.

D_L_B: Good luck in your marathon!

I hope all of you caught in this nasty blizzard/winter storm thing stay warm, dry, and safe. I'm not sure what all happens during these types of things since I'm in southern Louisiana. I just have Hurricanes to deal with!

As for my training, I got up early again this morning and did a 2.03 mile run (C25K- Week 2, Day 1) followed by lower body strength training and AB work, I felt great despite the lack of sleep last night. I felt in control and at ease while running which I have never felt before. I'm pretty excited! I did run in the treadmill but tomorrow I am running on the road. I'm trying to limit my treadmill running.

Tomorrow I have C25K (Week 2, Day 2) followed by 30 minute session of upper body strength training and AB's and ending with a 1,200 yard swim. Just one more day until my full day off on Sunday! Happy training everyone!

After getting my back snap, crackled, and popped back into place by the chiro and a few days on the mend, i'm finally back to training. Not 100% yet so I just did laps in the pool, prob do some biking and more pool work tomorrow. going to give it a few more days before i try running again. Just hope this little injury hasn't set me back too far. For you ppl up north, stay warm and safe!!

Yes you can and I do. On the run training one of those small personal bottles with gel and water ( Hammer also sells the gel in a 26 serving bottle, saves $). On the bike the areo bar bottle has Heed and water, and the downtube bottle has Endurolites mixed in water, and rides or races over Olympic distance gets a Gel taped to the bike as well.

I am 255 today.

Week 2 of tri training started off great today. My whole workout was nice. I had a date night last night so I pushed my big workout to today. I did a 31 minute run (C25K- Week 2, Day 2), followed by 30 minutes of upper body strength training and AB's, and then 1,200 yards for swimming. It was a peaceful, pain-free training session! For my run I upped my speed and I wast really out of breath which was encouraging. However I did have to run on the treadmill since it was raining so that kind of sucked. Tomorrow's run will more than likely be on the treadmill since it will still be raining.

Tomorrow will be easy and quick, just C25K (Week 2, Day 3) and lower body weights.

Still at 181. I'll take it after a week of inactivity due to my sciatica and being snowed in eating a little more than usual.

200 pounds this morning.

Had the longest run of my life on Saturday, just shy of 7 miles. It was a bit of a struggle, but I'm glad I did it. And I didn't feel too bad on Sunday. Depleted. But no real pain. This week is a cut back week for me, so Saturday's long run is just 3 miles. But I'll keep cranking up the miles as I work toward an early May Half Mary.

Things are going well overall, but I've been slacking on the swim. I'll try to get in two short swims this week.

Good job getting those workouts in. I hate treadmill running soooo much that I usually just run in the rain. I know - ridiculous but that's just part of being me.

Hi all! I'm 147 and holding. Annoying. I did a spin class on Saturday and held my own pretty good - so I know I'm in better shape than I was the last time I attempted one. Have a great week!

Today's training went well. Week 2 and feeling great. I ran C25K (Week 2, Day 3) and weights. I was supposed to do a 30 minute bike but it was nasty and raining so I moved my bike tomorrow since there is a smaller chance of rain.

I've also been doing great eating well and healthy. I am sticking to 1500 calories a day. I do eat all of the calories I burn back. However tomorrow is Mardi Hras here and although I'm not going to any parades (I don't want to stand outside with my 2 year old in the cold and rain) I am going to eat 1 slice of king cake. Also since my husband works on Valentines Day night we are doing our Valentines Day date on Wednesday. I won't be eating perfect but I will be getting my workout in! I have a run and a swim on Wednesday so that will help burn some of those calories.

8-10 hours the night before especially, if I cant shut my mind off, then I pop 2 Hammer Rem Caps, they are all natural but work like Nyquil.

Happy Mardi Gras LSU!

Way to go on the workouts and eating!

Being Fat Tuesday the wife will be making red beans and rice. I have to remember moderate portions.
