TrevorC - 2009-07-10 10:56 PM Ahhhhhh I just had the worst swim ever.
Went for an evening quick workout then swim. Swam about 2k in the hour so thats fine. I even did 500m X 2 at close to my normal speed. But i felt like garbage. Felt like i couldn't get a breath, really struggled with it. I havent been swimming this month at all. Other than the spinr last weekend, this was the first time in the water in the 10 days of July. Not sure if I was out of sorts, or if it was because I worked out a bit before hand. I'm sure I'll be fine next time in, but it was frustrating feeling so breathless.
But then a lady came into my lane. I was swimming 4 lengths to her 2. That made me feel good!

I think we all have these days.  What's important is you just get back out and do it again.

I had typed about 4 paragraphs and my comp. locked up, so this will be short.  I hate it when it does that.

I had a great run this morning with a local group that maps out a run every Saturday.  They had a 12 miler laid out this morning with 3 rest stops ... stocked with gatorade and carbs.  About half the group made it a 6 miler and I hung with the long group.  Brought up the back of the pack with another, but she helped me push my 11 to 12 minute pace to a 10 to 10.5 which was good.  I really enjoyed this and the group will be good motivation for the long run.

I hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend!

Who here uses the Adamo or  Cobb saddle.  I think I remember someone here saying they just got one or the other.  I am considering getting a better saddle to be more comfy in aerobars on my road bike.  How do you like these saddles if you have used them?

John just got the Cobb V (Flow)???  I have been entertaining the idea of a new saddle too.  Sometimes I just wonder if it could be more comfortable.  Not neccessarily un-comfortable right now, but what if it could be better???

I'm back!!!

#2 AG and #8 female!

25mph winds with gusts to who knows made for an interesting day.  The lake was so choppy you could barely see the buoys, but I never paniced. The ride was my best event, even though I was one hand aero and the other on the hoods. The cross country run--well what can I say? I hated it, but dealt with it!

I improved my time from last year by over 4minutes so I guess I am happy with the outcome!

Off to a party to celebrate summer!

I have the adamo.  Zero problems with it, have had it since Day 1 on my road bike with aerobars then moved over to my Tri-bike.

Tony, which Adamo do you have?  Did you feel like it made getting in your bars more comfortable (on the boys)?  What makes the Adamo different than traditional?  I know alot of questions, but on my road bike, I just dont like i can lean forward that far comfortably.  thanks dude

I have the Adamo Race.  Yep, that was the whole point, there really is no nose to the saddle so the "boys" don't sit on the saddle, your sit bones are what makes contact with the saddle.

Some people don't like the Adamo because since there is no nose to the saddle the front is a bit wider and it bothers their thighs.  People have put clamps and zip ties to pull the 2 sides in but I didn't have to do that.

hehe that's why we are all here to help each other out.

Running question. I just finished a 12.5 K (8mi) run and have developed a small blister between my 3rd  and 4th toes on both feet.  I think it might be the socks I am using now as I didn't have this problem before. The one I have now are a double layered type which are supposed to wick away the moisture better. Thoughts on what else it might be? or how I might prevent it. Maybe some Bodyglide?

Oh yeah felt good one the run. Only had one coughing fit so hopefully this darned congested chest  is going to be cleared up soon.

Hey guys and gals.  I tried to read all the missed posts but gave up on page 181!!   Found a few nuggets though.  Most importantly,  WELCOME SAM!!!!   Now does this mean my hubby has to join too?  I don't think this group could handle that.  Tony, you must pay more attention to whom is logged on when you post or we'll be all confused.

John, FLIM 2010?!?!  So that's what you've decided hu?  I know we kicked it around together but I'm not ready to commit yet.  Talk to me in 2011 I think.

There was a cyclist killed today on the main road right behind my neighborhood.  I ride on this road all the time. The most infuriating part is the news article is making this out to be his fault - despite this man is a known defender of road safety rules for cycles and auto consideration.  They even made references to "more cyclist being on the road and more drivers complaining."  How about it is SUMMER!!!!  What about non-bias journalism and posting a review of the laws behind cyclist on the road as information for the car drivers?   I really dislike the way my part of NC is so predjudice against cyclists.

i have never known a good running sock to cause blisters, especially in that area. slap some bg on there for the time being but something else is going on. listen to the others and start w/ toenails.

great you felt good on the run!
