Wow. I didn't realize IMFL bib numbers were up.  I'm nervous also. I'm 741 I hope that's lucky.

It's another Wednesday in paradise, who besides our girl Linda has decided to toe the line this weekend?  Some details would be nice!

If you're not racing, lets talk about day to day nutrition.  Anyone done anything differently to boost their health?  drop a few lbs? look good in their bikini?

good luck racing fools!  i've got a half iron on sunday. looking forward to it as its a small race on what appears to be a nice course.

plan is IM pace on the swim.  I've got one ows in the past few months, but i don't think this is an issue.  i'm really going to focus on finding some feet just as i intend to on the second lap at florida.  not really sure its going to be all that possible on the first lap.  IM pace of the front half of the bike to remind me that its ok that everyone and their mother is passing me on the bike.  second half i'll bump it up to HIM watts.  run,  haven't decided what i'm going to do yet.  i've narrowed it down to two options, neither of which include coming out of t2 at a glacial pace.   we'll see. weather is looking great.. high 30's at the start. 50's by the run.

awesome pics david!  reminds me of sailing as a kid.

as far as dropping a few pounds, i bought my first pair of size 36 jeans in close to 20 years last saturday.  ha!  funny thing though is i weigh more now than I did heading into texas.  i wonder if the more zone 3-5 work in the EN plan rather 99% Z2 with Fink has something to do with that.  or maybe they are just making size 36 bigger now.

BIKINI PICS!!!!!

Awesome on the pants!  I do think they are making bigger clothes and calling them smaller sizes, but my guess is you are solid muscle these days!!!  I love that you used Watts in a sentence! Kiss

If I drop the 2lbs I want to, I will post a bikini picture of Kyla for you!

Thanks for the b-day wishes, on and off line.  To be honest my birthday turned into a crappy day so I've called Mulligan and am celebrating my b-day again today!   Kiss  No transition bag but I'm taking a long weekend in Colorado with my mom and sister to do some girl bonding and shopping.

Love the photos.  Beautiful girls. I'd love to learn to sail.

IM Louisville 2013 for me!!!

Pre-season nutrition and weight loss:  trying to loose 5 lbs before the IM training starts (2 down, 3 to go).  Basically reducing what I eat and making the calories count, also trying to increase the water intake. I'm bad about that.  Funny too b/c I notice the improvement when my hydration levels are good but can't seem to make the habit stick.

Race season nutrition:  I'm going to explore alternatives to gels this year.  I know I can handle solid foods better than most people but Cananda taught me I can't do the whole bike and then run on gels so gotta find something that works.  Any suggestions?  No liquid nutrition either - I'm a water girl.

IMFL countdown has begun!!!   Nerves and excitement levels up yet?!?!?!

RUN:  "oooh, nice butt.  I'll follow that for a while.  Wait, that's a dude.  Oh well, still a nice butt."

FINISH:   you'll finish loud and proud and we'll all be cheering you on and waiting to celebrate another fantastic achievement.

Look at the FEED ZONE cookbook by Lim.  He has a recipe for Rice cakes that might work well for you.  THey are made with real rice, bacon, eggs, brown sugar.  I eat them before a long ride.  Paul loves them.  Lim gives them to his cyclists.  I am making them right now!

2 CX races for me this weekend.  Going into the weekend with a 10 point lead in the series so I need to have a good ride both Sat and Sun however, I also need to balance my riding against my competition because they have started working over the Officials to force me to upgrade after my last couple of race results .......  Sucky, sore losers!!  (Or maybe I am really Sandbagging and just don't realize it?)  Oh, no doubt, I will be riding FTW both days just to prove a point!

Good luck to all the racers .....  REPRESENT!!

I'm doing a 10 mile race on Monday (national holiday here in Japan).  The course is mostly flat and the forecast is for reasonable temps (15-20 C, 59-72 F).

Good luck racers!!  I will wait until next week to ask John about coming out of T2 at a non-glacial pace.

This may sound crazy but I have started using Almond Butter squeeze packets (Justin's Maple Almond Butter to be exact)  on the run with water and no gastric issues at my half marathon...but then again, I had not biked 56 miles prior to that!

It seems low in carbs, but I was thinking that if we can train ourselves to burn fat vs. carbs in training, why not in racing?  Especially for longer endurance events. I am going to continue to try this for the bike, too...and see what happens.

And, I love almond butter, so it's a win win!

Another CX race for me this weekend.  Hoping to make it through the race without some sort of mechanical problem.  Seem to be back on track training wise after coming back from vacation and finding myself a bit over-extended time wise.
