Heh.) Hm... dainty sandwiches vs. pastries, cakes and scones? Yeah, I know which I'd prefer. Bring on the sugar! So Cat - How was it? Did you have a fun birthday? barqhead - 2008-04-06 2:53 PM So what do you do at High Tea?
WEll it s usually like a traditional English Afternoon tea with dainty sandwiches and scones with jam and cream etc But I chose this one because they do French patisseries and little cake things as well as tea, coffee and scones - should be fun, even if it is probably a pretty rag tag group to be going with!!! Im sure some people will be under dressed (sneakers, jeans, t-shirts!) I just got back - total sugar overload but I really enjoyed myself - I have really nice friends! And they bought me pressies... which I did NOT expect at all... small things but i felt SO spoilt! I really thought having people come and spend an afternoon with me was the present... and someone paid for me too (dont know who) so I just paid for a (vry pricey) bellini... Its been years (since my 21st would have been the last birthday get together) since I had a group get together for my birthday... and its the first time in years Ive felt like I have some great and good friends who I can relax around... Im really stoked! (that may be the sugar talking!). I feel so blessed right now to have a small group of easy going people that are my friend... even if we arent so great on teh catching up! Glad you had a great birthday party, Cat. It is awesome to have friends who accept you for you! Glad you let the real Cat come out and play during the high tea. |

Wow, it was quite the party last night high tea, desserts, frozen threads, new avatars (nice Pam!), birthday wishes, insomnia - sorry I missed out I had a wonderful time with my friends for dinner - fell asleep right when I got home though - yesterday was a long day! Reading your blog yesterday was tiring for me! |

Sugar Daddy's at the gym now (and I think I'll go later to ride the stationary for a wee bit - I'm too wimpy to ride in the rain today), a little bit of grocery shopping and laundry, and lots of laying around. |

Do some laundry, maybe a ride on the trainer (too rainy outside). A lot of relaxing and hoping the stomach pain subsides a bit. |

I spent too much time on BT today, so I worked all night. Is it that I have insomnia, or am I just stupid? :P Oh yeah, and I STILL have to do my taxes.... (I did get a strength session in today (for the Challenge). So at least I did *something* worthwhile.) I have insomnia tonight again too. Ugh. I hope you and Dee are snoozing away right now. Insomnia is no fun. It's not insomnia as much as it's work-panic. I work every day of the week, but all I do is fall further behind. I've done some work already today. Now, I'm taking a Nibbs break. On the plus side, they finally posted the job opening to replace the person who left in December. On the minus side, they aren't advertising it much. (Basically, it's on our website, and that's it. I haven't seen anything in the newspaper....) |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Nibbs XIV Dee, I'm glad to hear they finally posted the position. Hopefully you will get some good applicants. I think some companies put an ad in the paper as somewhat of a last resort, seems like web recruiting is the way to go. Is there any sort of website with local job postings in addition to your website that they might put it on? Losing sleep because of work is never a good thing. I hope it gets resolved soon for you! |

They won't post on any location except their own website. That's it. I was hoping they'd use other internet job sites. They said they won't. That's why I was hoping for at least the newspaper. But they won't do that either. (insert eye roll here.) |

Yes, I know about craigslist. However, I don't feel that *I* can list the position elsewhere. They only want it on their website. Personally, I don't understand this. But I can't figure out exactly from whom this directive is coming. (HR or elsewhere.) I've been here for 5 years. When I was hired, I felt like I understood the direction we were going in. Now, I'm feeling like they're going down a different path. (Yes, there has been a large amount of turnover, including the president, VP and other "higher ups.") The president will be leaving this Fall however, so I expect our direction will change again after that. I do feel like I've become a mushroom though. (Left under a rock, in the dark...) |
