The team with the highest completion percentage wins. If we exceed our goals, the team score will be above 100%. Well.... Good try, but no.... If you reach 100%, you've reached 100%. This is to prevent people from setting low goals, then doing their regular training and saying, "Look! I'm at 400% for the month! Woohoo!" That said, during the final week of the challenges, I've been known to offer "extra incentive" where people can go slightly over 100% to help out their team. But there's never a guarantee that this option will be offered. Which means that everyone needs to work hard to reach their goals. |

Really-I thought that I read the results of a previous challenge with a team reaching 104%. Sorry for the bad information. I hope that everyone is having a great day. |

Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: Team Horny Melons (Four-Is-More Challenge) Good Afternoon! (and good evening to those out east). I have been busy today helping a friend get out of his apartment. He was out in time and passed inspection with flying colors so he gets his deposit back. Currently he is without a place. I contacted a friend of mine with a huge house on a nice property near Dave's school/work. Plus she is gone for the month(most likely longer-she also has an Island home and property in Richmond, VA. She said that he is welcome to stay there. I am very excited for him. He will have a nice place to live and secure storage for his babies...the Cervelo and his new magnesium frame bike building project. Oh, I forgot the other two bikes as well. Did I mention that he is a triathlete? One of these days I will get him to help me with some projects around the house. Edited by mchally 2008-08-30 5:23 PM |

Yes, I offered the "additional motivation" that month. But that was out of the kindness of my evil little heart. There's no guarantee that I'll allow "good teammates" to bail out their not-so-hard-working teammates this month. So, everyone should be aiming to reach 100% of their goals. |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: Team Horny Melons (Four-Is-More Challenge) sooooooooooooooooooooo, i ended up doing a big fat nothing yesterday, AND i'm looking to repeat yesterdays performance, today. actually, dh and i ripped up our kitchen floor because the installers (or "those farking idiots" as they're refered to at MY house) installed my laminate floor too tight, i had this weird hill in the middle of my kitchen where it had popped up!! (those farking idiots!!) SO we ripped it all up, trimmed a couple of boards and layed them back down. voila, all better. the REALLY crappy part of it all, was that RIGHT in the middle of having the kitchen all torn up, someone came ALL the way from tacoma (about and hour and a half from me) to look at the house. TEE HEE and we didn't know they were coming. oh yeah. that SUCKED!! BUT at least my floor is fixed, i don't have a hill in my kitchen anymore, and my house is totally clean now, because after we fixed the floor we did a total house clean up (out of sheer embarassment.) anyway, TODAY dh is working a double shift (16 lovely hours, plus commute time, he left at 430 this morning, and he'll be home around 11 tonight) so i'm not working out today either. i think i've been out training maybe 3 times since danskin--THIS IS WHY I AM IN THIS CHALLENGE!!! i tend to totally slack off after a race, and feel totally justified doing it!! so keep my arse going teammies!!! ok. so there ya go. everything rattling around in my teeny little mind, all sprawled out for your reading pleasure. |

I am scheduled for a women's super-sprint and a women's 25 mile bike ride. And the best part: there are lots of other BTs doing it. It will be awesome to finally meet some of my internet buddies. |

We all start to kick butt tomorrow and already we have this many postings. Glad to be on this team! Welcome, Gerald! You look like a righteous Horny Melon. Everyone--thank you SO MUCH for all your inspires and messages and support. I really can't thank you enough. It's been very dark and it's teensy slowly getting better, but those of you who have been there know that "teensy slowly" means everything when what you're going through seems like vast nothingness. I will be halving my September goals, to be realistic, and submit that any walking, cycling or swimming (doesn't have to be planned training) counts toward my goal. I was able to take a walk today and it was glorious. |
