Hey folks,

I need a blogging tutorial. Some of you comment on my training log and I reply.  It just dawned on me that I might just be replying to MYSELF!!  How do I reply to you so that you SEE my reply?

BTW...thanks for the replies.  They're nice to see!

Yeah, you probably were replying to yourself! That's okay, I did that when I first started here and had to ask the same question.

What you do, is when you open inspires, and you want to reply to someone, hit the "Blog" button, and it will open up their blog in another window, and open up THEIR inspire area and have what they wrote in yours that you are replying to! Hope that helps!

I just got home from the LBS.  Got a new bike.  Same bike, smaller size.  I got the 54.  Had my fitting too.  Feels MUCH better!  Excited about tomorrows ride.  Got new bottle cages, water bottles, spare tubes, sunglasses and new shorts.  Oh, a new saddle too.  Expensive trip!

ETA: this is my 2000th post!

Hi,

Thanks for what you said about February Britt. Mine's been pretty challenging too. Registering for Captex TODAY!!!! I need to enter a race so that I have a goal. It sort of took the wind out of my sails when I found out that Lonestar was the same day as my son's junior prom. Sad that I won't be doing the race but I would NEVER miss an event like that!  March will be better.  Glad to see everyone has been doing so well.

Les

Nothing like throwing down some cash to get you motivated again!

ABSOLUTELY! I hope you have fun on your ride and I'm glad you are more comfy.

I took a 12secondstv video of my bike. The music is sort of loud (sorryclick here

Does the warm weather make people act like idiots? I hope you got some rest. I'm getting on my bike again today but this time outside! I hope the wind dies down to a mere gale force before too long.

Les- yes! Nice bike...hope you got/get some good riding in.

Kirk- any rest for the weary???  I know what you mean about good weather and trouble.  Yes, it seems there are definitely fair weather bad guys....especially juveniles and the such.  Even when I was in Iraq, when the weather was bad, there were less incidents.

Totally. Especially when the weather first breaks. David Chappelle used to say, "IF it gets one degree hotter I am doin a drive by"....sometimes I think people reallty feel that way

Weather blows!  After almost a full week of sunny 80+ degree weather - the forecast is now nasty and in the 30's for my first Tri Sat :-(    bummer.

I know you northerners will laugh at this as you probably still have your winter clothes and snow shovels handy!  I foresee my transition time between swim and bike to be many minutes, because I WILL take my time and put on warm clothes!

x2!!!  Don't worry about your T1 time.  Just dress properly for the bike and you will be thankful you took the extra time when you don't have icicle on your hands!

I agree, weather blows!  We had 60s all weekend and now it's in the 30s and snowing.  Cruel joke I tell you!

Hey guys!  What's everyone up to?  I just did my longest swim ever.  2500 meters.  I'm tired but can't seem to sleep.  I tried but couldn't.  What is that about?  I have an hour on the trainer later.  I wanted to ride outside today since the sun is shining but am so tired I figured it wouldn't be too safe!

Wes, your tri is coming up fast!  Are you ready?  Excited, nervous?  You will do great and I am looking forward to the race report!

Wes- I feel your pain, literally.  My first tri last year was the Athens Sprint Tri (Athens, TX).  It snowed the day before (we hardly EVER get snow here, much less in MARCH), and the day of the race when we started it was about 25--pool swim--but let me tell you running from inside to outside WET was a STARTLING experience. I only put on a jacket...yeah, that's it...pretty dumb. I was FROZEN.  I think I felt my feet at the 2 mile mark of the run.  I could HARDLY take my helmet off in T2.  So YES, take your time and put on some warm clothes.  A few folks rode an ambulance back and DNF'd because they didn't put enough layers on for the weather...not worth it for a sprint, really....Don't worry though, tough first tri's make the rest of them THAT much easier, it did for me!

Erica- GREAT swim, way to go!!!

Sorry I haven't been prodding or jumping into logs as much. Life, with work and personal, and training has sort of been beating me up lately.  I'm looking forward to the first part of April cause I'll get to taper, race a HIM, and then taper for a marathon...racing is so much easier than training!!!

.......

This quote got me thinking.  Forget the bike clothes and stuff, I'm thinking of breaking out the hunting clothes to ride in!  Wool socks and big camo coat with face gear!

Good luck this weekend Wes. I have been crazy busy and my training is suffering. My wife and I are both people that volunteer for everything and so no to nothing. I just booked my cabin for the weekend in Tupper Lake, so it is real. Better get my azz in gear!!

Time to crack the whip for me too.  I registered for my HIM yesterday.  I'm nervous but confident I will at least finish.  I think.  I would feel better about it if I wasn't so tired all the time.  I just want to sleep!  Oh well, trainer and pool for me tonight.  Didn't work out this afternoon so now I have to train tonight.  When I'm even more tired.  Ugh.

Okay people, tomorrow is race day for Wes.  Head on over and give him some encouragement!  He will earn the rank of 'triathlete' tomorrow.  We all remember our first, let's help make his even more special!

WOOOHOOO, a triathlete is about to be born...it's addicting Wes, just wait till you get the adrenaline rush.  EVEN if the weather is nuts, still have fun with it, and remember you're just out there to HAVE FUN! Lots of BT'ers are going to be at that race, and they cheer for everyone! We're there in spirit!

GO WES!! Today a triathlete will be born! We're rooting for you and cannot wait to hear about it!!

Erica has a race this weekend too--so kick some butt at your 5K!

Hmmm, I think Erica has a good idea with jewelry, I would like some jewelry. I would like a man. Unfortunately, my options are currently limited!
