HAPPY NEW YEAR Group!!! Hopefully everyone had a happy and safe New Years!! I enjoyed a nice quite night home with the girls. I hope everyone has some great goals for 2010 and I wish you all the best so you can achieve and exceed them!!

What is everyone going to do on this fine Saturday? I am looking out at all the gorgeous snow falling.....and feeling very sorry for myself that I cannot go downhill skiing. Stupid knee. Breaks my heart. Seriously.

Sigh......

Oh well.......guess i will drag my azz to the pool. Cause , um, yeah, swimming in a crowded over chlorinated box of water is SO much more fun than swooshing down the hill at breakneck speed.

I actually have no more info at this point than you do, re costs and such. I did the tour a zillion years ago when I was in my twenties with my brother and a friend, but we did not "officially" sign up. I know the participants stay in the residences at Queens. 
I do know that there are different levels of rides" a 100k shortie, which leaves from Perth instead of Ottawa. Then there is the 170 k regular ride. This one leaves from Carleton U. Both of these rides are supported. And then of course there is the 220k option......but this one is NOT supported.
Now....here is the thing...I really want to do this, and am thinking of the 170k version. I hope my scope does not impact my ride volume too much so that its possible. BUT...but.....I really want to do this ride on sexy girl, NOT my road bike. So....that could be an issue. Which is why I am thinking if there was just two or tree of us it would be ok. I know I cannot use the TT bike if there is a big pack of people. And honestly? I am not used to riding in a pace line anyway....really ride by myself or with one or two others at most. I have a buddy here that would surely want in.

plus it's very easy to use that site to make your own, I did a couple of the doctors I work with and was showing it at our office meetings

I have one more day to work then I am off to sunny Florida...where I dont have to swim in chlorine and run in snow...and I can actually bike outside!!!!

Unfortunately, I crashed hard snowboarding yesterday.  Messed up a landing off of the big gap trying to keep up with all of the teenagers yesterday.  I have a about a 4 inch crack in my helmet that went through the styrafoam liner.  Back side is quite a bit swollen and I have a head ache.  I hope to be back training by Saturday. 

Kelly...so glad you are OK. Be careful blows to the head are nothing to take lightly!

Hello, all!

Clean eating is going OK - although I think we're going out to dinner tonight - hopefully to Indian...which won't be so bad for me.

Did an hour on the trainer this afternoon. The Y is too crazy right now, but I might hit there again tomorrow for a little run on the treadmill (because it's cold outside and I've turned into a wuss living in the "south").

Ran again this morning.  It was quite cold here for FL and I guess its going to stick around for 4-6 days!!  Mid 30s and windy - but I guess thats nothing for most of you!!   Played golf around 11:30 with a friend of mine who's in town from Hawaii, came home and chased the kids around the neighborhood on their new bikes for a while.  The little ones are spending the night with the in-laws so my wife and I can spend some time together  Think I'm going to take tomorrow off - start the new program on Monday morning.
