Can't wait to see some race pics with one of them featured. Bill: Great pics from around Buffalo. Also, good call on the "Kiss my argh." Can't wait to hear how that one goes over! Also, what's the idea for your tattoo? Do you have a sketch? Stacie: Funny how we did the same workout today. Must have been a good day for 3 miles and some light ST. Also, rockin necklace! Ann: If you don't feel comfortable being the Toppage Queen, I think the Toppage Jester is a suitable substitute. Way to keep the pages rolling. Melindy: You are psychotic. Plain and simple. How you fit so much into your day ON TOP of medical school and still manage that much sleep is beyond me. You're my hero! Jules: I cringed when I read about your crash and the damage to your bike. I am just thankful that you are OK. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better today, and I hope this cold is no big deal. Get well! Robin: How you can resist napping with your bed staring at you all day while you work is remarkable. Your work ethic must be outstanding! Neal: I wanted to do RAGBRAI the whole time I was in college but I didn't have a bike and I had to be in school full time in the summer. If you can do it, go for it! Maybe GU can invent a beer or pie flavored gel to help you get through IMMOO a little easier. Amy: Have a blast in DisneyLand. I got to take the kids in August and had a great time. Make sure you log your walking, because there is PLENTY of that in your near future! If there's anyone/anything I missed, I'm sorry. Bill, I just can't imagine biking in snow! Is it packed so that you stay on top of it or do you kind of plow thru? Dee - most of it was hardpacked or icy but there was some loose snow areas and that is just brutal. You really cannot stand up because you need your weight on the rear wheel for traction so it is a pretty good workout all the way around. That sound downright crazy. Totally self-supported for 3 days in MN in Feb????? I think one of my toes just fell off from reading about it. The bike winners were in under 24 hours total - but they came down from Alaska so they have pretty good training ground. My goal would be to finish obviously but in 28-30 hours with some sleep time in there! OUTSIDE??? I'm feeling another toe about to fall off. You have to have a bag/tent/pad in case you do sleep outside but there is some quarters at the checkpoints from what I have gathered! But I would probably do it outside just to keep in the spirit of the race. When we were younger I had a friend that moved to Leadville, CO and we slept outside one night during Christmas break - the elevation of Leadville is above 11,000ft so it was mighty cold! Bill, you DID notice that last year the temp dropped to -34*F at night, right? |

Jules that looks like a nice place! You have to pay for parking????? I so want to go to the Channel Islands - next trip to LA that will be my destination! we need to do a monster mash and all meet there one day! what ya say ghoulies...ya in??????? by then maybe I can win the lottery and pay for all your rooms...and for all the Margaritas Ann can drink while there....thanks Ann for snapping me out of my diet coma! |
