I don't know what happened, but I will say that I signed up for the race knowing the course wasn't finalized and released. So, there is no reason why one should "demand" the course map so far from the race date. A week beforehand, I can understand. When they're still working on official routes 10 months out? Get over it. Shouldn't have signed up. |

I thought it was funny. It is not like the KEJ is trying to get approval for a Silverman vs. Florida course. At the end of the day it will be the same elevation and basicaly the same roads. If the poster is so worried about time he can come down and ride the ironstar course and add a few3 adjoining roads and see the course. |

Elite 4235 Spring, TX | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas : Official Thread Just one poster being a jerk. That's fairly common over there! I guess I don't understand the impatience on the course being released. Unless you're local, why do you need to know the route this far out? I signed up for IMCdA without ever looking at the course, and I don't think I even looked until about a month out of the race. |

And even if you are local, you can ride some of the other race courses around there, or popular cycling routes and pretty much bet that the IM course will be similar. |

It just occurred to me that your sig line is very appropriate to explain why people are flipping out over not having routes: "triathlon is a sport for self-absorbed narcissists, Type A obsessives" |

I was actually really happy to see people sticking up for KEJ. |

Master 2238 Dallas | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas : Official Thread Who gives a crap about the bike course? Is not like we're climbing Alpe D'Huez! I'm way more preoccupied on thinking how I'm gonna be transitioned to the heat from training long in the winter. It took me a whole month and a half this year. The real challenge in this race is going to be the marathon, the bike will be just saddle time at aerobic effort. I guess I'm gonna keep my butt in the sauna all throughout the winter to keep the plasma levels pretty high... |
