Artemis - 2010-07-18 7:44 PM I got a trainer ride in today.  Not much, but it's better than nothing.

I would have done that but somehow felt the need to go outside....dumb azz....(me)

John wanted to know why I didn't just take Speed Demon out.  Well, I need to inflate those tires too and now that the floor pump is broken and both co2 cartridges are spent without inflating my tire and I had to finagle the pneumatic pump to inflate the tube I did change I wan't messing with that bike in my frustrated state of mind.

Sounds like that would have just caused more problems.

Yeah, given that I threw the messed up pump across the garage floor (nearly missing the rear window of my car parked in the driveway)....who knows what I might have done if I  had messed with Speed Demon?  That would be UGLY!

QueenZipp - 2010-07-18 5:53 PM You all have NO CLUE what I went through to get a ride in tonight.......it was a major hassel.
Darn, my blog entry won't copy & paste.....go there for yourselves.  I deserve bonus points for this one.

Definitely deserve bonus points for that, especially since the pump was the only thing that went flying across the garage. I don't know if I would have had the patience to go through all that and still go for a ride.

Boots can look really hot, but with this outfit? It just doesn't work at all.

I asked Cat what to do about Sulcus, since he hasn't logged anything on the spreadsheet (and has not logged any workouts at all in over a week).

She said that we can remove him from the team spreadsheet.

Therefore --- *Poof* --- He is gone.

Sounds like you can make people disappear pretty easily. Where were you back when I needed to ditch an old girlfriend?

I'm a little frustrated with myself. I had it all planned out. I was even a little late for work because I needed to get my stuff together so I could go for a ride at lunch. Then I go and leave my jersey behind. It wouldn't go over very well to come back to work wearing a sweaty shirt so I had to skip the ride. I almost drove to the lbs to buy another one but I already have plenty and by the time I would make it back I wouldn't have time for a ride. Why did I take that extra shirt out of my bag the other day?

Ride 9 is done, not as long as I wanted but it still counts.  It went a lot better with having a functioning bike pump

I had good workout yesterday. I did my own little practice sprint tri. Things went well. I didn't drown or collapse on the side of the road or anything. I even hit the gym for a little after. I'm still feeling like a slacker though. I missed some workouts earlier this month so now I have to do a ride every day this week to catch up. My total time is doing great and I've boosted my goal several times this month because I was ahead of that, but my number of rides is way behind. I will do this though. I will catch up and not let the team down.

Me too.  My miles are up, but number of rides...not so much.  Time is flying by.  I guess we better get on that bike.

Dear Liquigas riders,

You have worked hard over the last few weeks and deserve some rest time. Your legs are tired aren't they? Why not take a few days off of the bike. It will be there when you get back. Start up again anytime after July 25th.

Love,

A Garmin rider

Here is the response I posted in the Garmin thread:

"Dear Garmin riders,

Sorry you're so close, but still not cutting it.  We'll be happy to take a rest day...it is currently scheduled for July 26th.  However, if you feel the need to rest early, we would totally understand.  You can do whatever you want, but remember that the peloton only waits for the yellow jersey.

Love,
Liquigas"
