Hi Ghouligans. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Weather here has been terrific, relatively speaking. Got a nice run in this morning, although had a creepy moment towards the end. Saw someone coming up behind me on the other side of the road. Guy on a bike (not a biker, but a guy on a bike. no helmet, scruffy clothes, backpack, beater bike) He slowed down and was riding parallel to my run. Creepy grin on his face. Must say the HR spiked a bit. Fortunately, I was close to a neighborhood and popped a sharp left. He kept on going, but I was a bit nervous. I listen to my gut.

Key now is to get back on track with weekday workouts. Hoping the job will settle down a bit and I can get into a rhythm again.

Yikes!  I am glad that nothing came of that creep.  Do you carry pepper spray or anything?  I don't but I have considered it.

I do carry pepper spray on my fuel belt for longer runs that take me out of town and into less populated areas. This was only a 4 'ish mile/in town run, so I wasn't wearing the belt.  Guess I may start rethinking that.

Glad to hear nothing happened and that you are usually prepared when you run.  I don't like to run alone unless it is in a heavily populated area.

No kidding! CARRY THAT PEPPER SPRAY!! Don't make me have to call Tom on you!

Could you call Tom and have him stop by my place?

I was feeling groggy and not too rested until I read about the rest of you!  LOL

I think I got more sleep than any of you, so I guess I am doing fine.  I am not even drinking coffee today (at least so far).  Today I am having hot tea  -- "Perfect Energy" by Yogi Teas.  Nice vanilla flavor to it. and it is energy enough to keep me from having a "caffeine-less" headache.

Well, it's probably the healthiest!  LOL       I will be switching to water about mid-morning (unless I add a cup of coffee at lunch).

Me too, I've got 4 water bottles with me today, and I'll go through three by 5pm and have one for the run.  But I think I might be having another soda this afternoon at some point.

Morning, all! Sounds like we have some sleepyheads here today. my hubby has decided that he HAS to have a new house. Ugh, He goes on these rants every year--one year it was the ATV, another it was the toy hauler/camper trailer, another it was the road bikes (I liked that one Innocent). Apparently this year it will be a half million dollar custom built home. Not that I can complain too much...until I have to work more hours to help cover the mortgage because he thinks we can afford more than we can--and my eyes are bigger than his pocketbook, too, LOL. The problem is that I dont really want to move. I love the neighborhood we're in, my sister and parents are within 5 minutes, we have fabulous neighbors...I could go on for a while. And selling this place...oh my. Help! The basement rebuild hasn't even begun yet...

On that note, I think I'll go make myself a cup of my coconut flavored coffee. YUMMY!!!

Do you think he'll be happier with the house once the basement rebuild is finished?  I know that  I always feel like moving when everything is torn up and not finished.

Anyway, I have a really nice house right next to me for sale?

I am the same way, Kendra! We joke that I live here, and he rents space and comes to visit here and there. I think it's really that he's gone, working out of hotels so often that when he comes home and has to share the TV with the kids, and has to share the space with 3 other people it feels more cramped to him. Also, he grew up dirt poor, and now that we're getting more financially stable, I am starting to see him over-compensating for that ALOT. For example; he has this strong feeling that we have to have the nicest, thickest, most plush carpet available. Seriously, the carpet we had in the basement is so expensive that the insurance adjuster had to get approval from her area manager before she could enter in what the carpet was supposedly worth---and they undervalued the carpet by about $10 per square yard. He finally told me why he wants that particular carpet--he grew up in a single wide trailer, with 3 step-siblings and a half sibling, and when the carpet wore out, it wore out and they had huge spots where you were just walking on the backing of the carpet, not the carpet fibers themselves. Now, we make enough money that we can get the not-as-expensive carpet and replace it looong before it wears out, even on a whim for change of color if we really wanted to, but he still feels like we need this super plush, uber expensive carpet. I think the house is the same way. And it doesn't help that his business partner is a workaholic who had a wife working full time, no kids at home, and bought and built his own mini mansion 5 years ago, and 2 of his 4 employees are buying houses now, and he feels like he has to "keep up with the Jones's".

I think I just might come buy that house by you, Kendra.

So trying to get my son in for some additional testing-- I think I need to call Melissa. Neuropsyhcological testing, anyone? I need more info, and need one of these psychologists to call me back and have an opening NOW. I hear they're al booked out for 6 months average, though. He's having a horrible time at school right now--getting teased and picked on, lashing out, he doesn't mesh real well with his teacher this year, his ADHD interferes with is ability to do his school work (which causes more conflict with the teacher), he wasn't placed back in the gifted and talented program for next year, and he is getting depressed and anxious. Poor kid. I let him stay home today because of a stomach ache. Which I'm sure is his anxiety...but he won't see it that way. To him, he HAS to stay home. So I think we're going to go catch some lunch, return some carpet samples to the carpet store, and I'm going to try to build him up a bit so he's ready to go to school tomorrow. *wish me luck*

Sounds like what my sister is dealing with. They couldn't get an appointment until the middle of July, and she's upset because her son is failing school NOW! In all the standardized tests he is off the charts, but when it comes to the day to day he is barely passing if at all.

Hi Amy, Sounds like you need to move next to Kendra and call the Queen for an appointment with your son.

Seriously, sending you a few mushy {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}} your way. If you can wait until Thursday, I'll send you a Mojito as well.

Got a little run/ walk in and the back didn't cry too much. I was going to bail then I thought of my Hippo-b-gone program and did it.

Going to a  new place in A'ville on the river tonight with some good friends. That is a nice end for a Monday!

Oddly enough child neuropsych is what I am studying right now. Can't help too much with inaccessability of resources though

It is a fun word to say, especially with a Spanish accent. No, I was not drunk when I was texting the other night either.
