I know you will all feel sorry for me - not - but I am jetting off to the USA on Saturday until April 29. No bike, so no challenge for me. Good luck, girls. I will check in on Friday and then that will be it for 3 weeks. Michele well, michelle, you'll just have to take part in the May challenge - i think we'll do a tri type of challenge with all three sports... have a great trip and enjoy the states - if you want some sightseeing tips, just let us know again where you'll be heading, i know NYC was on the list - but i forget the other stops. |

Regular 93 | Subject: RE: marymosc13's group THE V.A.M.P.S., FULL Hello VAMPS! I'm hoping that I'm really back into the swing of things again. I was really struggling to get excited about training lately. The weather has been pretty bad too, so I have no desire to do the cycling. I also need to do most of my training in the early morning (between 5:00 and 8:00) so getting on the bike that early in the dark is even less exciting to me! When do all of you do your training? Just curious. I used to squeeze it in during my lunch breaks, and also early morning. Now, it's all gotta be early. I'm hoping it gets lighter earlier soon! Hope everyone is doing well! Have a wonderful day! |

Veteran 242 | Subject: RE: marymosc13's group THE V.A.M.P.S., FULL I find that if I don't work out in the morning I just don't get it done. That's not to say I do it first thing or even that early, just before 11 o'clock. Otherwise I start running errands or go to work and then the kids are home from school and theres dinner, you know the drill. So for me, before showering in the morning and I'm good. |

I think that may be my problem too. When I was working full-time, if I didn't get up to exercise, then I just didn't have time to do it. I thought that when I was home more, I'd have more time...yeah right! My workouts have really been hit and miss since then (good thing the Feb. challenge ended before I quit my job!!). The last week, I've gotten up and tried to get my workout in every morning before matt leaves for work, and it's worked so far. I guess I'll just have to keep with it! Thanks for the encouragement! VAMPS are great! Have a wonderful day and super workouts! |

What do you think? I will be participating in the Faith in Action Triathlon/Duathlon on July 14th in Wheeling, WV. Just a thought... Thanks! what's the distance you have to swim? have you ever done it in one continuous swim? is it in an OWS? or a pool? have you stopped training altogether or has the swimming just gone by the wayside? If you are REALLY nervous about not being able to swim the distance you have some options: do the du and keep training for a tri - you are a strong runner - but i'm not sure about your cycling register for the tri anyway and focus the bulk of your training on swimming until race day above all, make sure you are having fun! the race is the best part! and now for the requested a$$ kicking portion of my message: get in the dang pool and swim girly, because you don't know unless you TRI! |

Member 5 | Subject: RE: marymosc13's group THE V.A.M.P.S., FULL Hi everyone!! The warmer weather makes it feel great to be outdoors and train. I am not much of a treadmill / bike trainer kinda gal. Outside is where I want to be. Even the pool is pushing it I did a little 5k last weekend. My time is nothing to brag about...but it was a PR for me!!! I'd like to shave about a minute per mile off that time as I work towards a tri scheduled for July (Mary: I think same one you are signed up for - at Mercer). Getting a little nervous because I don't nearly feel ready. I would like to do another 5k and a 10k before the tri. Then perhaps a big run for the fall - like a half marathon. Happy training to everyone |
