Pro 4723 CyFair | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED Think I'm going to look for some new race gear. The fabric on my gear now isn't very breathable and given the fact I'm a super heavy sweater I'm going to grab some more mesh/breathable stuff. Maybe something from the guy who did my fitting. I have some other options, but those come with strings that I'm not willing to deal with at this point. |

Extreme Veteran 3020 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED So, my husband told me that he's feeling physically weak, and he wants to start running again. He wants to do the Rock-n-Roll HM next October (here in Cleveland). He found a plan that takes him up to the race (couch to marathon in a year). He asked me to do this with him. He wants to do a run/walk strategy and just have fun. I am absolutely going to support him in this. I know it's soon after IMMT, but I'm not going for any HM records. I'm so excited for him (and for me...hope they secure some good musicians for the race). **edited to add - I hope this is ok, Kelly. He really wants me to do this with him, and I think it's important. He had a hip replacement a year ago, so we're looking at running s-l-o-w-l-y! Edited by jarvy01 2012-11-10 3:27 PM |

Extreme Veteran 3020 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED Up early for a swim & lower leg strength. Did 3600 in pool today and felt totally spent by the end. Made me realize just how long the iron distance swim is going to be next August. For IM swim, do you all just try to find a comfortable pace and keep it for the duration? What is an average time for this length of swim (a time when lots of people are rolling in)? |

Most people finish in the 1:05 - 1:25 band. You pretty much find a comfortable pace and go. You're not going to make your day on the swim but if you're stupid you can break it. |

This^^^^ Find your forever pace and swim, just keep swimming. You do not want to burn any matches on the swim, and it's easy to do when you're all hyped up in the water with all those people. It's really not that bad distance wise, even though it seems like it takes forever. =/ |

I want to spread them out which will require traveling either in the spring or the fall. I just can't figure out the right combination that will work with the home life. |
