Oh Hell's yeah...training this weekend was epic and awesome!

5.5 hours (113 miles on the bike).  Quads gave way around 95 and complete noodles at 102.  But when I got off the bike I ran like the wind with no effort.  God I love my Blue!  Nice easy 30' run after the ride.

Next morning, 22.3 miles in 2:45 and picked up the last 3 (7 - 7:10 pace).  Super hilly loop and negative split it.

Monday I did a bit of OWSing with the Masters group and an easy 2 hr ride at 210W.

I can hardly wait...just time to execute now!!!

Ridden the new course a bunch this season and one thing to note is that in addition to the well known head wind on the climb from Wilmington back to Placid, that same head wind is there for us to enjoy from the new Ausable Forks turnaround all the way back to Jay. That section can feel like a wind tunnel. Of course, its at your back from Jay to the new turnaround, too, so this is where you'll look to gain some time.

Rode the drainer accompanied by Spinnervals 13.0 - Tough Love.  I hope I'm not out of the saddle on race day nearly as much as I was for this sweatfest! =)

BTW, just checked and hubby and I are staying at North Country Community College in Saranac Lake. Nine miles from LP. Woo freaking hooo!

WittyCityGirl - 2010-07-05 9:30 PM Can someone puh-leez guarantee that the swim will be high 60s/low 70s (preferably more towards the 60s side of things)????

I was abso-freaking-lutely ROASTING in my full sleeved wetsuit and have been debating on renting a sleeveless for the race.  Our water temp today was 78 and I made it through 2 miles of the swim, but I'm actually legitimately concerned that I wouldn't be able to cool off enough between the swim exit to T1/mount line for the bike.

IF the weather happened to be in the 90s on race day I am toast!

There are no guarantees in LP on race day.  I have never found the water to be that warm on race day in the last 5 years.  I am one that would overheat as well.  I have at other races but never at LP.

Let's get all this heat out of the way over the next 2 weeks so we have a glorious overcast, low humidity, temp in the low 70s day on race day! I can dream, can't I?

In all seriousness, as has been said before, we can't control anything other than our attitude. We are truly blessed to be able to compete in this type of an event. Every time I felt like crap during the last go around, I just kept saying to my self...."I'm doing an f----ng Ironman!" Yes we do all this training to maximize our effort and acheive certain goals, but in the end, we are the lucky ones who actually get to compete in what is the ultimate event of our sport!

I watched a blind man race and complete the last half ironman I did. He was tethered to another swimmer by a bungy cord. I remember standing on the beach and thinking, 'why am I stressing over things like is it going to rain, will the wind pick up later and how will it affect my time?'

Ruby is a freaking Saint.  I can't tell you how many times I would have beaten Max cause that kid just doesn't listen.  Although his wind-up toys are very cool.

Ruby is hiding something.  I think she may be dealing behind the scenes, she's too angelic.  Keep an eye out, it'll be like the Tiger Woods media frenzy.

There's no parents in that show!  They go shopping by themselves, whatever they want.  That show is not allowed in my house... along with SpongeBob & Caillou!  Caillou, a whiny brat who gets what he wants by whining.  And it's on PBS!

Going under 10 hours Dan?

That's the plan brother.  Have to if I want a chance.  Training says I can do it...so I just have to get out of my own way.  :P

Since there's no one in my house under 20-something (aside from the dog) I don't understand the Spongebob thing then again I don't watch the show.  Isn't he just a...sponge? In a pineapple under the sea?  I definitely can see how a parent could think he has poor judgement though.  Pineapples are ROUGH! Who wants to live in one and get all those abrasions between the outside of the pineapple and the spikey things on top!

anything that is both entertaining to adults and children at the same time is probably not the best.  (simpsons and south park come to mind as well, although they are a few levels above SB)

sure, most of the adult humor in SB is not processed by a 4 year old, but it's going into their head.

sadly, the best shows for kids are probably the ones us adults cannot stand.  The Wiggles, Imagination Movers...you know, that singing and dancing crap.

anyway....anyone here racing in the next few weeks?

My kids love Cailou.

I am concerned about why he has no hair though. Medical issue? Stress? Cancer?

Male Patter Baldness.  He is really a 28 year old actor named Victor. He once started in a "amateur" movie, but it hasn't made it to his fans yet.

PennState - 2010-07-07 9:09 AM I have 5 more days of my last push of high volume counting today. Then a modified taper. Getting closer and closer

I'm in my taper, but part of that is I'm fighting an injury. I'm just hoping to finish - although I do have a 4.5 hr ride, but that is really a  taper for me, so I' starting to freak a little.  I think the injury will be fine, just running sucks right now and while I'll finish, the run training will suck.
