mndiver - 2009-01-22 6:56 AM I would love to have a good Masters class with faster swimmers to swim with.  Only Masters class I have found close enough to make it worth it is pretty low key.  Most one hour work-outs end up with total swimming volume in the 1800 meter range.  After going about 10 times I realized this was really not getting me anywhere.

This group is probably in the 2000-2200 range for about 50 minuteswhich might be a little low but is just fine for me since I am typically shorter than that.

Tell us more. WHat were you wearing? Who were you running with? How did you feel? Was your Aunt running with you?

Sorry.  For some reason I was actually doing work today at work.  I'm shutting down for the day, so I will have a couple of hours of internet time before heading home.

No major plans for us.  No football to watch - how strange...

I'll do quite a bit of stretching and some core work, and maybe get in a run on Sunday.

I saw the nutrition for my second appointment on Wednesday.  She inputted lots of information into a computer program, which told me my calorie breakdown for each day.  My summary was

Basic Calorie Requirement:  1846
Average Daily Exercise Calories:  1051
Calories to Maintain Weight:  2897
Calories to lose 1.0 lbs/week:  2397
Ratio of Calories:
Carbohydrates:  50%, 299.6 g = 1198.5 calories
Protein:  25%, 149.8 g = 599.3 calories
Fat:  25%, 66.6 g = 599.3 calories

She said that I should keep the 2400 (rounded the 2397) consistent from day to day, instead of eating more on higher exercise days and lower on non-exercise days.  The major problem that I have noticed since Wednesday was that I can't seem to get my protein level up enough.  I have no problems with the carbs, but yesterday, I ate too few proteins while following a very balanced diet.  I will be asking the nutritionist about this when I see her next week.

No football?  It's the Senior Bowl this weekend?  (I could be wrong.)  I know it's not the most exciting, but it is something.

I guess it's time to switch the focus to basketball until pre-season football starts in July.

No training this weekend for me.  Tomorrow I'll be at a youth wrestling tournament in Troy, PA the whole day and then Sunday we will be skiing.  I did get an extra swim in tonight while my oldest son was at swimming lessons so I won't feel so guilty the rest of the weekend!

I hope everyone enjoyed the heat wave today.  Cold again tomorrow.

Have a good one everyone!

Happy Friday everyone!!

We will be up there in the morning.  I think the boys are going into lessons at 9:30.  Will probably break for lunch around noon when lessons are done and then go back out for a bit.  Let me know a time and place to meet you between 12:00 and 1:00 so I can introduce myself in person.

If you could arrange to have your mask and snowy hat on along with some ice on your eyelashes, it will help me recognize you!

Have a great weekend everyone.  Going to go for a weekend warrior type of thing.  Maybe 9 miles on the treadmill in lieu of the half marathon I was suppose to do but really couldn't muster any enthusiasm for.  Plus it's -20 to-40 windchills this morning.  Then however long the movie "Traffic" is will be my trainer ride on the bike tommorow.  Try to get another swim in tommorow also.  Yesterday's relatively easy paced 1,000 felt pretty good.

Yuck Bryan, 9 miles on the treadmill.

Mark me down at 221 on the weight loss challenge (219 after 2 hours of working out this morning).  Of course, I ate a bunch of cookies and ice cream to undo that weightloss.

It's nice to have something to train for Barb. I'm looking forward to Eagleman, I'll start to get a bit anxious around the middle of May if there's still snow on the ground and in the 20's!

It will be great to see you there!

Nice job on the weight loss Jeff!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and those that went skiing had fun.  The closest I have been to skiing is watching it on TV.  (I did go tubing once.)
