bcart1991 - 2009-02-09 8:39 PM New bike is 95% finished. Just needs front dreailleur tuned up, seat height adjusted (just put on a new post) ,and the bars wrapped, and she's good to go for this weekend's race.

Got any 'in progress' pictures you can post on your blog?

Sure. Lemme see what I can scrounge up.

Speaking of things that were broken, my left leg is MUCH better this week. All the very aggressive spin bike mileage I've put in the past month and a half is paying off. Its probably 85 percent, but I rode Sophie - my single speed - to work yesterday and while my left leg is still a bit weak, it doesn't hurt to drive a 48x18 now like it did.

I honestly think it was either the meds for bipolar I'm taking - and the dose has been reduced - or I may have had a minor stroke. Undecided

Well, hopefully if those are the only two options it was your meds.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE BMWs. I do not, however, like how much it costs to fix German cars or their reliability vs. Japanese cars.

So much lose here.

I easily spent TWICE as much fixing my '88 Accord when I had it vs. my BMW (same length of ownership). The car is rock-solid. I beat on it and it laughs at me. Tha Accord was dead at ~180k, the BMW is still going STRONG at 225k.

If you take ANY car to a dealer for out-of-warranty repairs or service, you deserve what Fate delivers you.

DIY and friend's hookups ftw.

All my other pics are on the home computer. I'll snap a couple when I go home for lunch.

Nada mucho, Sprint. My feet still look the same but I did get fitted for Superfeet insoles last night. Maybe that will help the situation?

I really like the black frame. What color tape are you going with?

Gonna be black to start. I might go with a white saddle & tape later on.

I absolutely LOVE the Specialized Toupe saddle on there. Holy cow that thing is comfy. Super-duper light too. 167g actual weight.

Yeah, they are a lot worse from what I understand.  Take forever to heal and can reduce blood flow.  Even worse if you're diabetic...although I don't know of many TANners who are.

N0pe, not diabetic although I'm probably headed that direction with the amount of sugar that I eat on a daily basis.

I still wouldn't want corns.  But I really wouldn't want your feet either.  I'd probably tip over.  Not much stability there.

Bcart: You're going to race a bike this weekend that you haven't finished putting together yet?

Yes. And I will be racing it on wheels that aren't mine. New post is on, just gotta wrap the bars tonight, and tune her for the other wheels. Ain't no thang.

Fair enough.

Now, if you asked me to autocross in a friend's 911 Turbo vs. my little BMW, I would be a little antsy. I'm in my element with this bike stuff.

Don't fear the 911. They're not THAT great. OK they're pretty frickin' great but the MR2 with H&R Springs and Tokiko 5-ways could outhandle the 911 on the road course. Plus if you're autocrossing, turbo cars SUCK. Especiall ones with big turbos and itty bitty intakes.
