Hi everyone!

I see that I am already many pages behind, but I fully expected that once I saw some of the names on the challenge.  For anybody that does not know me, my name is Travis.  I am currently a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines stationed at Buckley AFB in Aurora CO.  That is about 15 minutes east of Downtown Denver.  I am hoping to complete 60 miles of running during the month of June, which would normally be very low milage, but have been fighting some issues that just wont go away.  Namely inflamed lungs.  I look forward to competing and completing this challenge with you guys since it has been many months since I have been able to grasp the goals I have set forth.

Inflamed lungs sounds like it scores real high on the suck-o-meter...

They never did post the results from my 5K last month.... (It was the first time it was being run, but they DID have a company handling the timing....) The chip numbers didn't match the names. So the results were all messed up. (And yes, there were $$$ prizes.) They had me down as a guy. And my name - well, it showed a fantastic time that I *wish* had been mine. Since they never posted the results, I'm assuming they weren't able to correct the problem. (Also, they took photos, and those never appeared either....)

Ok, now that's frustrating.  You didn't happen to accidentally pick up any cash with your fantastic time, did you?
Nah. It wasn't a winning time, but it was wayyyy better than my actual time was. Also, I'd have needed to change my name to "Andy."

If it was a fantastic time then that was sooooo not me...  They would have to get out the calendar...

It does.  What should normally be a simple activity takes a lot more effort to accomplish, and even more effort to recover.  For example, a three mile run that I can normally run in well under 21 minutes and usually under 20 minutes even here in the mile high altitude is taking more like 30 minutes and I my lungs feel like they would at the faster time.  Not to mention the deep dull pain in my chest.

This doesn't mean I can't run harder and fast, just that it takes more effort than it did three months ago.

No idea if anyone posted this story in a previous 'Taser' group, but it's one I had saved from a while back and thought it was hilarious:

...

Damn Todd, I laugh so hard people at work all wondered what was wrong with me ...

HAHA!! The guy I share my office with and I are laughing our off!

Believe me, when I saw the time next to my name, I laughed for a week.

I ended up finding my chip number (and Andy's name). It was much more in line with what I expected. (Poor Andy.)

Guess they just threw away the photos since there was no way they were going to be able to figure that out.

Hi Travis!

Glad that you're feeling better. You've dealt with a lot the past few months.

Sorry that you're not back to 100% yet. You'll get there though. Glad to see you back in the challenges again.

I was hoping it was sooner, rather than later -- because I knew you were having health issues.

We've had a few people show up this month, who I haven't seen in awhile.
