Does anyone have any suggestions on what to wear as to run outside when the weather gets colder? I'm especially concerned on how to keep my feet warm. Definitely get outside much better IMHO. I run down to about 15 degrees. I have a pair of underarmour cool weather tights that I love and and UA shirt. Sometimes if it is wet and sloppy I wear two pair of socks, but if it is just dry and cold only one. I wear glove liners, but no gloves and sometimes I wear a ski band to keep my ears warm. Most of it I end up pulling off into the run, but I am a naturally hot person. did somebody want this spot? Edited by notarunnr 2009-10-01 9:06 AM |

Then I come this AM and have a few more to read!! This will be a fun month! Wonder if I will have time to run????? I'm thinking that between running and reading this forum, there won't be time for Anything else !  No run for me until tomorrow. So that gives me today to try to catch up with the posts! I will put an under armor longsleve, then a warmup jacket/ windbreaker depending on temps and wind. also a hat and gloves...if my fingers are cold it is a tough run! I don't have issues with the feet...they stay toasty warm! X2 on the layers. Try to get a base layer with some wicking properties to wick the sweat away from your body cause that can get cold! Hat and gloves are a must and perhaps something to cover your face if you're running in real cold. I was out a couple of times when the wind chill was in the -teens something covering the face helps. I've never really had problems with my feet getting cold but a good pair of socks can't hurt. |

I find on really cold days I need something to cover my mouth to warm the air I breathe in, otherwise that freezing cold air is miserable. I usually use the neck of my UA turtleneck, but sometimes I run with a neck gator. |
