D001 - 2009-10-02 10:48 PM You know that nice team table you just made? Well, it's time to edit it (again). Yanti is joining our team!

I ***heart*** you, Dee.

I know and love many of you here already and look forward to getting to know the rest!

Very happy to be part of a challenge again ... have needed to look inward as of late and haven't been able to be as involved on BT as in the past. But slowly emerging and this seems like a wonderful group to be, uh, well, re-emerging with!

Slowly getting back into regular training as well. Hope to do a 5K or 10K later in the month here in Jakarta, Indonesia, where I fairly recently relocated to.
WE ALL ***HEART*** YOU, YANTI! I'm so glad you're back on BT. I'd thought we were going to have to send a BT Search Party to Jakarta to find you. :P So. See any piglets lately? LOL

Ah, well where Yanti is, piglets be not far ....

Fielding - 2009-10-03 10:18 AM Hi, Team! Dee was just kind enough to let me into the group. Forgive me for not reading over all of the previous 19 pages -- you guys are chatty! But I'll be sure to skim so I have at least a vague idea of who everyone is. I'm Erin and I'm training for my second marathon in December. I've set a pretty lofty goal for the month and the main way I'll reach it is by nailing all of my long runs. Um, long runs are hard. So yeah, this should be fun. (Hi, Yanti! It's great to see you again!)

See, I knew this was the most awesomest challenge team ever.

Yeah, I like to wander in and out randomly and in a mysterious manner.  But I can't compete with the post padding people, particularly the proficient ones.  I can be prone to alliteration though.

In other news, HUZZAH for Yanti on the team.

Nice 7 miles this morning. The weather here in central MS is great right now. And I appear to be fully recovered from last week's race.

Onward.

Back from my 5K, E.V.I.L Running Reapers, and I brought home some hardware -- Grand Masters! I'm happy, but it's not quite as exciting as it sounds. It was a local race, and there just aren't that many of us "senior" ladies out there running competitively any more. I beat my last 5K time by over a minute, but even that is squishy because that last 5K was HOT (can you say August in Florida?). Anyway, I'm pleased.

YAY!!! That is so cool. And don't sell yourself short -- one minute faster *and* Grand Masters?? That's awesome no matter what the circumstances.

Absolutely! 1 minute in a 5K is big.  And congrats on the hardware!

My weekend: six miles this evening then a half marathon tomorrow. I'm racing the half but it's not an "A" race -- I'm just trying to figure out where my fitness is.

6 miles tonight, and a half mary tomorrow?  Have a great race tomorrow, and don't forget to smile for the cameras

Thanks, but it wasn't even close to a PR.  Just much better than my last 5K.

Happy Saturday, fellow Reapers!

Erin - Welcome to the team! Have a great race tomorrow.

Cheri - WTG on your race and bringing home some hardware.

I don't have too much on the agenda for this weekend, thankfully. I've had a very hectic past couple of weeks, so I'm really looking forward to some down time. Plans for today include a hair appt this afternoon and then coming home to watch the Tennessee-Auburn game (Go Vols!). Tomorrow's plan included a little bit of housework and a lot of football watching. My team is one of only two remaining undefeated teams in my fantasy league and we face off tomorrow. Somebody's goin' down and I'm just hoping it's not me.

BTW, did I mention that I really like football .... a lot? Although, I'm a baseball fan as well. Given that I live in Anaheim, CA, I'm definitely hoping the Angels do well in the playoffs. This is the first time in their past four appearances that I wasn't able to score a ticket to the ALDS, so I'll just be watching from home this year. Go Angels!

Since this is a running challenge I went for a swim yesterday

And while you were doing that, I was loading batteries into one of my tasers.

Evening EVIL Reapers!

I didn't get my run in as planned.  My Pilates teacher training ran from 7:45 am - 6 pm today. Not enough of a beak at lunch to get in 5 miles unless I morphed into a Kenyan.  SOoooo I will run tomorrow instead.  The rain should stop by then too.  Unlike some of this team I don't really like running in rain when it is in the 50s - 60s out.  Now snow is another story....LOVE running in that.

Busy day for me.  Pouring rain most of the day.  I love running in the rain but didn't have anytime to run.   Cub Scout store, goodwill drop off, appointment for Cole (remind me to make his appointment for during the week next time, reoccurring Sat appts suck), grocery store, long drive home, put groceries away, eat, run more errands (four different stores), grab dinner and more importantly BEER and head home to collapse.

What a day!

Not me! Do you have more than one pair of running shoes?? It is so damp here they don't dry out for days if they get really soaked.  Whine...whine....whine.....

Yup.  I wear my ZOOTS when it rains.  Works out really well.  I am thinking if I only had one pair, it wouldn't be so fun.  Didn't think of that.

I don't ever really have to worry about whether or not I like running in the rain.  I live in southern California, so that wet stuff only happens a few times per year.  Although, I have VERY vivid memories of sloshing through the Surf City race on Super Bowl Sunday a couple of years ago in a cold horizontal rain.  I think Yanti was doing the race that year as well.  It was miserable!  Amazingly enough, another one of my friends did that as her very first race ever, and she's actually still doing them.
