I keep thinking about that lady who ate the bacon cheeseburger with fried egg on top and added salt pepper ketchup mayo RIGHT BEFORE the 10K swim, then won it.

I don't think I'm going to try that. But I'm tempted.

We get a lovely lunchbox included for after the race! Last couple years it's been very nice, fried chicken with rice and veggies and cookies for dessert.

MMMM, fried chicken. There is nothing wrong in the world that can't be fixed by fried chicken. And cookies...

Like a good Manatee, I've been chowing seaweed like I need more blubber. Seaweed snacks, roasted seaweed sheets, seaweed sandwiches, seaweed in tortillas, sushi ...

My Firecracker 5K (formerly known as the Pork N Brew 5K) gets me access to a pancake breakfast (think I'll pass on that one) and entrance to the Pork N Brew festival as well as $5 Pork N Brew cash (to purchase said beer n bbq). Yummo.  Hungry Manatee.  Me thinks it's lunchtime.

I'm not a fan of the whole massive pancake breakfast scene.  The pancakes usually taste like plaster. I'll be riding my bike there so I'll have to ride it home too.  Don't need a stomach full of heavy pancakes for the ride home.

Free pancakes is good.
$5 credit for beer & bbq is better.

This sounds like a win-win situation to me.

Asalzwed - 2012-07-06 2:14 PM Sooo, what are all the non-racers doing this weekend? Big training?

4 hour bike ride on Saturday (Chicken Bridge route!!!)

Everything on Sunday (45 minute bike + 90 minute run brick and then swim)

Kevin's been out of town this week for Week of Rivers.  His kayak club goes to the mountains and does a week of whitewater kayaking.  Emma and I have Girl Time and watch TdF together.  OK, I watch Tdf, Em is more of a hockey fan (seriously, treats are involved and she's learned to recognize the annoucer's voice and the horn and the Wrong Team command for horns in away games).  Anyway, Kevin will be back on Sunday.

6 or so mile run followed by swimming on Saturday and a 25-30 mile bike ride Sunday. Pretty much a replay from last weekend as I'm trying to ease back into this whole training thing.

Ya'll are starting to me me feel a little lazy...I'm sitting my azz on the beach tomorrow to watch some Pole Vaulting (my friend is trying to get me back into vaulting....) whilst drinking mimosas then going to watch some horse racing for a friends bday.

Sunday I am working an Xterra triathlon and then getting a run in on the course (after it's over)

Lots of running, trails on Sat, treadmill on Sun. Although Sun may become a swim, I dunno. Oh yeah, my shoe purchase ended up being Pearl Izumi iso transitions. Easy on and off, and they are comfortable as can be.

You guys are some super busy manatees!  I've been a huge slacker for the month of July thus far.  In my defense, it has been over 100 degrees for weeks and we haven't had a drop of rain in 22 days.  The weighloss is kinda at a plateau as well.  I've lost 33 lbs and have been at that same place for a couple of weeks.  I'll find my mojo, just not sure where.

HI CARLA!!!!!

That is awesome in itself. And often plateaus just are. True when you're improving your health and fitness over the long term in any way.
