I think I heard it somewhere.  The radio I think...  and it had to do about the olympics.

I get more emotional/teary about "overcoming" than sad stuff.  I will cry about beating the odds and overcoming obsticles but some sappy love story does nothing.  Losing someone (in a story/movie) effects me less than finding someone against the odds.

That's probably why Miracle had me in tears and The Notebook?  Meh.

Hey TAN...  If you want/could.  Go to the "First OWS" thread in Clyde/Athena and say something nice.

I usually avoid those kinds of threads and say "who cares".  But this one touched me.  Maybe it was the pic or the "thank you", but it's not like the typical.

I realized what some of this about - being truly happy about acomplishment instead of complaining about stuff.

TAN does good deeds.  I like it (but I won't tell anybody).

I think that's why the other thread moved me so much.  Granted, it could be a lot of my imagination/assumptions.

But I assume that being young, minority, weight...  All of those things go against the trend to do something like that.  So a lot of it had to be flat out personal drive and ambition to do it, despite all the factors going against it and being out of place (looking at everyone else in the background).  AND being terrified but still going through with it.  Maybe a lot of skeptism, rather than support?

Those are the attributes of a person I would like to be friends with.  Not the guy bragging about a sub 40min 10k.

Yeah?  I just need to shave.  Decided to go with the scruffy look this week.  It's all fine and dandy for the first 4-5 days, but there comes a magic length that it turns itchy for some reason.

I WAS going to do a short swim and clean up a bit (shave) at lunch.  But back to that whole story.  Skipped workout and crunchwrap urges.  No need to rehash that.

OK.  What's your call TAN...  I'm I bad or do you agree:

I was in Hawaii for the honeymoon and we did the Mt Haliakala (sp?) tour to watch the sunrise...  There was some christian youth group that went up too - so a bunch of holy roller christian kids.  And of course, as kids, their enthusiams grows in a group situation.  Mob mentality.  Feel safe to express themselves with all their friend backing them up.

So here we are, watching and waiting for the sun to come up over the ocean.  A truely beautiful experience you just want to soak in and reflect on god's work.  But the kids suddenly feel inspired/touch by god, I guess.  To start some huge group song praising god.  Singing LOUD...

So here is where I was bad (in my head).  I was PISSED.  I mean, I love the lord as much as the next guy, but to me, let people enjoy this moment how they want to.  Why impose your beliefs and do some loud, intrusive song, in a quiet and spiritual moment?  I felt like telling them to shut it.  But how do you do that and sound like anything but a devil worshiper?  Then I could just IMAGINE the feedback I would get "you need to be saved, blah blah blah..."

So, what I'm trying to say, even christians can eff up a perfectly good things!

Sucks because it's unlikely I will ever be up there again - and these kids were semi locals (they looked hawain)

Rule #1 in Hawaii: don't p1ss off the locals.

Yeah, I have done that.  Still going to shave...  I have a big weekend planned where a smooth face is better for all parties involved.

I had two very different and interesting dreams last night...

In one, I was a vampire and killed some bad people that kidnapped me and my friends (they didn't know I was a vampire).

In the other, three smoking hot friends invited me to join them in some fun...

To much time away from the wife is causing me to have dreams like I was a teenager.

Anyone else think Asthma is a weird word?

What's that T and H doing in there?  Get rid of it!  Such waste.  Don't you know we are in a recession?  We need to conserve and here we go like a bunch of fat cats, just using up letters when they are not needed.

Negative.  I read the first two books and gave up on the third.  And have no desire to rent the last movie...

Books ARE better than the movies, but not by much.

I wish there was a way to find out if someone is cheating at Words with Friends.

I give most people the benefit of the doubt, but when their vocabulary suddenly expands to include words there are about as abscure as you can find?  And these "magical" words suddenly start overlapping or hitting triple word scores every time?  I have my doubts.

I'm pretty good, but I can't compete with someone gettign 40-50 points on EVERY WORD when if I get over 25 on average I'm pretty happy.

A couple times I decided to counter by using a scrabble cheat on every word to maximize score and STILL lose to them.

It seems to happen after I beat them a couple times and suddenly they get WAY better.

but you know what I meant!  not as "abscure" as "clapt".  That "t" was used to reach a triple word score.  Looked it up, it's an ancient form of "clapped"...  It's basically a dead word, but still recognized.

I did know what you meant but couldn't resist. Don't play the game but yeah if someone is dropping words like that they probably have some help or a Masters in English Lit.
