Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Nothing from me again today. Still rough weather and also have a sore/tight hamstring. Didn't want to risk anything and ride or run. Will try for a easy swim tomorrow and then decide about my race. The aim is to complete the swim with out any panic attacks so if I can't ride or run then to bad. Considering the start of the month when I was unwell for a week I had a ok month for workouts. My rides and runs are getting longer just need rest up a little more. I think that is why I may be breaking down towards the end of my 3 week sessions. 5 weeks to go before the HIM so will be aiming for some longer rides and increase the length of my runs. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Another failure at the Cross race, fell in one of the corners after my tubular came unglued (front tire), I remounted it with only one and a half laps to go but when I fell my rear derailleur was bent and I had a really hard time shifting gears, finishing the penultimate lap I broke the chain going up a hill (deja vu) and hit my knee pretty hard, opened up a gash about 1/4" long. Aftermath: Can't wait to go back and show CX that I am tougher than a couple of bad days.

Glad to see you are still having fun and like they say, third one is a charm! Love that warrior spirit, so get out and make us proud! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 10 mile run today. Awareness bike ride tonight (logged in advance) for cyclists getting killed in the Austin area. Congratulations, Mitch. No one can catch you Mitch S 2 / B 16 / R 17 Rest 5 Total 35 26:06:11 |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Mitch - I have the Gold membership but can't comment if its better then other levels. I got it so that I could customize my program a little more to my needs. When I was not a member I didn't see a heap of differences. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Congratulations Mitch on your stellar November. Welcome back to consistency! Adding my last two of the month, my disastrous race on Wednesday and a runch today. My vacation from training is over, I feel fully recovered from my race and ready and eager to bite new adventures. Half the volume I did this month was in one single day, LOL! Any takers on a December challenge? Mitch S 3 / B 16 / R 17 Rest 5 Total 36 26:36:27

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm always in. Always looking for extra motivation to get that workout in. Been focusing on consistency and the ability to run and Bike with more frequency and ultimately volume. Got a pair of CEP compression sleeves from the new Tri store that opened up locally. Trying to do my part to support them. Interested to see how the compression sleeves work. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Added in my last update for the month. Wow, you all aren't kidding about the post-IM depression kicking in! I think a big part of it is that I know I shouldn't work out, but I feel guilty about not working out. I did play hockey again today, I had taken most of the summer and the fall off of my men's league hockey which is a big deal for me. Only problem is I remembered today that part of my noon hockey on Friday's includes vast amounts of beer at lunch afterwards...

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Catching up for my absence for the last week. I started physical therapy this week and am now off the bike as well as the run. Swam 3x this week and plan to swim both days this weekend so I am now on a 5x week swim program (ugh). Long absence from the pool has made for a painful adjustment, but I am taking my lumps. I know I also need to hit strength training and yoga, but am not feeling - work has been simply unbearable. Mitch - The gold custom program is pretty decent and allowed me to build my own HIM program that proved to be really good for me. However, some the workouts are very rote because they are computer generated and the swim workouts get to be very monotonous.

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks for the recognition on November. Finally getting back in a groove. Hope to stay healthy this time. Thanks for the feedback on the membership types. I ultimately renewed as a bronze member. I found I didn't really use the silver plans and wasn't sure I would use the gold either. I'm going to use some other resources to build a season plan once its set and then input into bt.com. Certainly will ask E and others for feedback on the plans once set. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Yep I will be in for a December challenge. Just back from my sprint. I survived the swim which was the main aim. 1.55 for 1000/30/6. Swim was 26min so need more work on that. Hope you don't mind I change the formula a little to make it easier to see/read. Matthew Swim 0 - Bike 1 - Run 0 - Rest 0 - Total 1 Time 1.55 |

![]() Mitch and Jackie congratulations on November challenge!! Being at the bottom of the pack, i really need the motivation of a December challenge. I am doing cross-fit 2 to 4 times a week, but i need to do alot more B/R/S. The good part about the cross-fit is that for the first time in my life I can do multiple true pushups and am on my way (probably another 6-12 months) to getting my first true pull-up. Also, the additional strength is helping when i do get out for runs. I am definitely in for December. I am aiming for a PR B/R/S month for the last month of 2012!! |

![]() | ![]() Congrats Mitch. Not sure if I'm in for December. Been water running and trying to follow the Don't Eat Like a Pig Diet™, but have instead been mostly following the very different Eat Like a Pig™ diet. Will start up marathon training in a week. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I know I'm late finishing my Nov stats, but I was watching Missy Franklin, Ricky Berens and Ryan Lochte compete in the Winter Nationals here in Austin. What a rush! Mitch, I miscounted my workouts and found a few I missed. So, I actually had 38 workouts for Nov and beat you Mitch S 3 / B 16 / R 17 Rest 5 Total 36 26:36:27 Sure, I'm in for Dec. |

![]() I just reviewed my monthly challenge participation records. I sat out of the challenge for 2 months (June, and October). I do not see challenge results for April except body weight. Thus, among 5 months of monthly challenge finals, I determined my PRs since April 2012 to determine a goal for this month - December. I know this is tedious, but I am telling everyone to try and increase my accountability. My PRs over past 5 months is more than a little sobering in comparison to November's winners (Mitch and Jackie); please do not vote me off the island, at least not yet .... My total number of workouts in any 1 month ranged from 9 (May) to 29 (August), my times ranged from 6:12 (May) to 19:50 (August), and weight low was 137 (April), and .... well .....we will omit high weight. Therefore, my goal for December is Total = 30, Time=20:00 and weight=136.999. Let the games begin!!! |
