DDVMM - 2012-12-07 9:38 AM I just entered into waking up at the 4:30 hour to get my training done. So just curious, what's the earliest you would get up to train?

I get up at 4.  We'll see what I resort to on long run day leading into IMTX.  I'm willing to use my lunch hour as nap time.  LOL.

I have gotten up @ 3 to run and still make 5:30 masters. But that was crazy! Usually up between 4:30-5.

I'm with Karen -- 4:30 - 5.

Its so much easier in the summer when its light out.  Winter is tough.  Today  iwas up at 5:30 and its just so very dark.

To make masters I get up at 4:20 so I have time to stretch out and get a few slow laps in before it starts at 5:30. I've gotten up at 4 a bunch to be on the bike at 4:40 during the peak of summer daylight. I've done 3:45 once to get a 15 mile run in. Generally I'm in the 4:20-5 bracket.

Bike test done! I need to get my basement finished so I can get a TV down there to watch something while riding.

Need a nap.  Had a 3 year old's Polar Express themed bday party for brunch.  Homemade kolaches, donut holes on a stick, mini muffins, bloody marys.  Good times.  Hit up Sam's for bulk chicken and Starbucks on the way home.  Did I mention it's nap time?

We had a birthday party here too. Madge turns 6 on December 14. Pizza, beer, cake, and ice cream bar. All but 1 of her friends made it to the party, so she was thrilled. I am exhausted from cleaning all morning, so I am off to bed soon.

Nice job, Larkin!  Yes, you need to get a TV down there.  Long trainer sessions without TV are painful

Thanks Jen and Kelly!

Both of those parties sound like an excuse for parents to get together and party A Bloody Mary does sound nice though.

I have an old tube TV I may have to break out and use. I don't want to buy anything because we plan on investing in a large family room TV once things are finished.

Looks like I'm going to miss hitting 5000 miles on the bike for 2012 by about 200 miles.  So close!  Bet I hit it in 2013

Bike recovery ride done. Run Test later tonight. When you guys do your run test do you do on a track? It is pretty hilly around here so I don't know what is best.

I did mine on a 1 mile loop in my neighborhood that has a long gradual hill and regretted it.  Flat would be the way to go next time for me.

We did a family jingle bell 5k today. Had a great time even though it was raining and cold. This is the second year we have done it and my poor almost 9 year old finished and started puking. I think he gave it his all and got himself in at 29:17. He was at 33:xx last year. My oldest daughter ran with her XC team and came in at 25:xx. A 3 minute PR for her.

Michele - family 5k, that's awesome.  And some fast times there too!

We took the 3 dogs to the greenway and ran / walked them today.  It was humid!!!  We've been having very wam temps, 70's during the day, mid 50's in the mornings.  I'm ready for the cold!
