Awesome!

Just make sure to listen to your body! Don't aggravate the injury!

I put up a little study I did on the difference between my road bike and my tri bike on the main page. Check it out if you guys get bored / are interested in that kind of stuff.

Swim this morning, ride this afternoon, then my stroke development class after that. Should be a full day.

Raced yesterday in a local sprint (so local as a matter of fact, I rode my bike TO the event) and got 1st AG / 4th OA. Still a bit disappointing, I continue to get beat by three people... it's like a guarantee I'm the 4th person...

After that, I *thought* I was going to do my 5:30 ride outside "from" the venue (I figured at least 1 out of the couple hundred people there was as crazy as me and wanted to get a long training ride in... guess I was incorrect) but due to the heat and lack of companionship, I turned it into a 5 hour trainer ride (I counted my 30min ride home from the venue haha) and let me assure you guys... It was just as boring as you could imagine. Fortunately Metallica was there to keep me from losing all my sanity... arguably.

Here's the link to the Race Report

Well I made it back from Alaska alive! Didn't get eaten by grizzly bears! If any of you ever get the chance to go there, do it, it's amazing and beautiful. I really want to go back.

Back to training now, race on Saturday! Pretty sure I won't do too great, but that's fine with me, I just want to race!!

I think I would have considered going to Alaska right up until I read that...

Good luck Tomorrow, I'm sure you'll do great!

I wanted to say "Well Done" to everyone this go round. We've certainly turned out some A+ Triathletes. All of you have done a great job and excelled in the sport, sometimes having to overcome a lot of "adversity" just to get a workout in! I'm proud of all of you! Triathlon is all about consistency, staying injury free, and staying motivated.

I apologize of any failings I had during this time... 140.6 training really ate into me more than I thought it would (being mentally on Empty made for some spotty reply's on my part) but I would like everyone to know you are more than welcome back in the group the next go round, (December'ish) Where, regardless of how many of you guys stay, we'll try to take in another 10 or so Newbies. Of course anybody who wants to go to a different group (or, start your own group) you know I'm fine with that and wish the best, so long as you promise to check in every now and then! Otherwise, boo on you

This thread is still open, and we'll keep it up as long as you all want. I'll continue to check it pretty regularly, so don't feel like you are kicked out, and of course, you can always PM me.

All the best you guys!
Chris

Yeah, thanks everyone for the support and encouragement! I've loved hearing all your stories (the good, the bad... all the trials and tri-bulations

I, too, have been a very bad member of this group for the last few months. Still training, of course, but moving across the globe ain't easy and a normal routine (such as forum checking) is the first to go!!!

Keep on training!!

Swim - 880m it looks like. Depends on how you want to tackle it.
a.) Find a pair of feet... quick. Hope they are good spotters (look up every now and then, but less than usual) and hold on the entire ride.
b.) Start out on the outside corner and avoid the washing machine. Take it easy around the bouy (farther out) and don't go out too fast. Finish the swim with good times

Bike - Don't hammer the first mile or so (although you'll want to) then put it into warp mode when you find your stride.

Run - Pace Booty. Find it, catch it, hold it.

When it hurts so bad your mind and body are both screaming "STOP!!" you know you've found Race Pace for a sprint.

Oh yeah, and do try to have a great time

Hey all,

Sorry to have totally fallen off the face of the earth the past few weeks. Thanks so much for all the support this summer! I hope everyone's happy with their remaining races- I'll try to keep an eye on your training and race logs, but school has started again and it looks like it's going to be a crazy year.

I had my last sprint this past weekend and was happy- 16/53 in my age group. I was especially pleased with my bike- I was sixth in my AG! It's fun chicking guys on the course

Now it's one last week of hard training before my Olympic- woo hoo!

Yay!! Awesome. I did my first Olympic this weekend and the thought of doing anything longer than that actually seems impossible, so my mind is totally blown by IM finishers. Congratulations!

Sorry I've been so out of it everybody. Completed my final Tri of 2010 this past weekend, and it was painful... I got food poisoning on Thursday night, I'll leave it at that.  Hope everybody's training continues to go well and thanks for a great summer!!

I'm just lost...

... after all the training, this "rest" is driving me crazy. I went to the gym this morning...knew I couldn't really run or ride... so I wandered around, lifted a couple of weights, and walked on the treadmill for a few... I think the people working thought I might have hit my head or something the way I was walking around without purpose.

Me too! I don't know what to do without having any scheduled workouts. I signed up for a 25k this weekend, don't even plan on running all of it, I plan on walking parts, I just felt like I needed to do something! Crazy - yes, necessary for my sanity - yes!
