Veteran 265 | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Just checking in - it has been a very busy week at work. I just updated my logs & the spreadsheet - I am at 50% - not where I wanted to be but not to far back either. I have a long swim scheduled for tomorrow - that should put me in front of the curve! Hope everyone has a good weekend. |

I'm visiting the team threads now, and trying to figure out if I need to "do" anything for them. LOL |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Didn't get to post my last 1000 before I went to the ski hill yesterday. One of my tri-buddy's DH swam next to me, and I didn't want him to beat me too badly, so I really gave it some extra ooomph. DH is sick, and DD#1 is gone skiing again (I wasn't invited, boo hoo) so maybe I'll try to catch another swim today. |

Expert 626 Las Vegas, NV | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks All right team, let's get it rolling. We are at an average of 51.25% as a Team, and should be at 55% as a whole. I see many members of the team falling behind, and and the further one falls, the harder it will be to catch up. Let's stay on top, and keep up the great job. Go Team Swimming Rock, we can do it. |

48 | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks This morning I did a sprint tri with the local club and - wow - the swim portion was...um... interesting. I know some people have no problem in cold water, but 56.5 is just too cold for me. Brrrr - my right foot didn't thaw until 10 min after I'd finished the run. Literally. Another "interesting" factor in this swim were the jellyfish. There were thousands of moon jellys everywhere. I kept getting confused at first - I thought I was hitting a person who was swimming in front of me, but after a quick glance up, I realized I was just grabbing jellys with my hands. I'm pretty sure I killed at least 20 jellyfish with my speedy arm pull! Oops! At least I got in another 800m for the swim challenge! Just to top things off, I rode the whole bike portion with my front brake pressing against my wheel (lightly, but enough to feel the difference once it was fixed)! Bummer - but at least I can try again next month. |

Veteran 265 | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Betsy - congrats on your race! I got 1200 yds in today - in my new wetsuit in OW - it was COLD also! Swimming along the shore at the beach is just rough....with waves crashing in/on you it makes it ...suck! But got some time in regardless. Beautiful day today! Spent about 30 min laying on the beach afterwards then went for a nice bike ride - lotsa sunshine! |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Great bonus swim for me today. I went 3000 yds!!! My longest ever. I have to tell ya', my form was all in a shambles by the end. It is always fun to best yourself, though! I am at 79%! Wahoo! |

Member 16 | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Hello Team, I got in 2600 last night and I am now over 60% of my goal! I must admit that you guys are the key to my getting to the pool! It is so cold in this part of the world, the car won't start unless it is plugged in etc...that I really don't want to go outside BUT....I know that you are counting on my 100% total and I am a team players, so into the pool I go! Once I get in the pool, I am fine...Last night's swim was fun. I went faster than I usually do. I usually do sets of 20, playiny, getting in 80 lengths sticking to my crawl and then if there is time, after getting my goal I do drill-type, correction-type strokes for an extra 20. Does anyone else find their arms-only drills seem faster than regular crawl? If so...why? I feel so strong when I do arms-only. Anyway! Get out there, SWIM, SWIM, SWIM! Later Peggy |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Team Standings - as of Sun Feb 17th:
Congratulations to RUNNING WITH SCISSORS! They are the current leaders in the Feb Challenge! Remember, your training needs to be reported on your BT Training log and on the spreadsheet! Team captains - please help your team members log their training correctly. February is now 59% completed. So there's still plenty of time for you to SWIM, BIKE and RUN! - Dee |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks February Challenge Update For the challenge updates, I usually tell you what the teams are discussing. (This is also known as "The World According to Dee," and it may, or may not, bear any resemblance to what YOU thought your team was talking about. LOL) But when I was looking at the spreadsheets today, I was really impressed by some of the distances and times that some people have logged so far. So today, I'm going to start by giving you some updates on specific people and their progress. SOME OF THE AMAZING DISTANCES LOGGED TO DATE: Swimming: - Devouahy - 67250 meters Biking: - TheBear - 144 miles - Mesteren - 231.8 km (144 miles) Running: - Waterdog66 - 168 miles - Daremo - 145.8 miles And CONGRATULATIONS to: - Skarl, who raced in a Duathlon and won her AG! - Out4atime, who finished her "first race ever," set a PR doing it, and finished in the top quarter both in overall and age group. And now, the moment you've all been waiting for (or not) --> The Team Updates! Team Swimming Rocks Milaminute continues to wave her glitter pink whip at her team. The overall lead slipped away from the team this week, so Mila has advised her teammates to swim anyway they can - including in their bathtubs! (Watch those flip turn though!) Shoeless set a PR distance record. Tntexpres got a new wetsuit. And Betsy855 played with many moon jellyfish during her OWS. Team We  T.I.T.S. Tupuppy has a new endurance activity - minivan shopping. Many team members, such as amschrod and MissKelly went out this weekend and got some B.A.L.L.S. (Yes, I bet the rest of you are wondering what that means. You'll just have to visit Team T.I.T.S. to find out.) LEMmings - the reRun. Over the cliff again. Many members of this team are dealing with the plague. Daremo and bhoover10001 have started their tapers. Charge4brendan ran the Tokyo Marathon today. (He hasn't checked in yet to give us the results though.) Running with Scissors Well, it's clear which team is winning the post count challenge this month. Already up to page 30, this team does plenty of running AND chatting. Skarl raced in a Duathlon and won her AG! Congratulations! She is also philosophizing about whether it's safer to run where there are mountain lions, or where there are people. (OK, so I simplified it a bit. You'll have to visit the team thread to find out the rest.) Lyssa-gator is planning on eating tacos until she pops. TinkerBeth (LastCall2003) is commuting via plane these days. A whole bunch of team members are celebrating anniversaries. GirlPassingOnLeft has gone to watch the AMGEN Tour of California today. And I'm sure there's more, but these guys just type soooo quickly. Gingerbread Joggers There have been some humorous pictures posted on this team thread. Zipp1 is highly motivated to win the challenge this month - she REALLY doesn't like the Patriots, and doesn't want to wear a Pats avatar next month. Ilucy2 has discovered the BT route tracker. Enders_Shadow has been traveling a lot. And Dcon is happy that he lives in a country that has some great sushi. And karbates was able to register for a tri event before it closed out. Pitter Patter of Fast Feet aka PFFT Kenj ended a post with "Oh, and enjoy your VD." We're hoping he was referring to Valentine's Day! The difference between Naked Running and Nude Running was discussed. AKTri said that it warmed up to 30 F, and declared it "almost naked running weather." Sparco refuses to run in shorts until the weather hits 40 F, and doesn't seem to like running naked. (Or nude, either.) Waterdog66 had a pukefest at the track, followed by a hearty dinner. Geauxtri's dog weighs 103 lbs. And Out4atime, who finished her "first race ever," set a PR doing it, and finished in the top quarter both in overall and age group. Congratulations! From Challenge Central, this has been your Challenge Update. Now get out there and swim/bike/run! - Dee |

Extreme Veteran 877 Pa | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Got another 2100 yards in this morning. That brings me to 69%. It looks like if I make all my swims for the rest of the month, as planned, I will be hitting 100 % as scheduled. Of course, I'm not counting my extra swims that I like to sneak in ;-)

Expert 626 Las Vegas, NV | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Nice job folks, but we have fallen behind. I was looking our team average and we are hurting. Let's get in the water, and get some mileage. We started with a good boom, but this team has slowed down the momemtum. Let' s get that new skip on the water and start logging everything we can. I know you can all do it. Happy training, and you all have a great week. |

Totally unplanned in the backyard pool after sitting in the hot tub for ~30 minutes post the Daytona 500 party. Pool was only at 70F but after soaking in the HT that long it felt great! Couldn't get to the Y today due to work pressures but will be there tomorrow AM for another 1500 or so. |
