I really feel for you guys, having been there, training in both the UK (mostly rain) and Canada (eeek, cold and snow), and we have an absolutely gorgeous day today on the Gold Coast. It was light and sunny at 5 this morning and is now very sunny and about 25C - sorry, no idea what that is translated into N.American speak....its warm but not super hot anyway. |

From a passing truck at about 1m away because I was about to cross the road, it hit me hard and didn't break until it hit the ground so I actually have a decent bruise from it. I was SO mad - idiots! Anyway, hope everyone else had some good training sessions. Back in a little while to chat  Cowards! I had some ppl yell at me from inside a car in the middle of the night on a busy road when I was running and they startled me. |

There will me a missing run on my part this month I went downstairs to use one of the two treadmills at my friends apartment and both of them were broken. Someone deliberatly ruined the safety magnet components so that they wouldn't turn on. Sorry team! I will try to make this up. Worst case scenerio I will be missing less than 5%. |

My, my....what a chatty bunch  I had a most excellent PT session, only 10 min on the bike but we re introduced all the shuttle things that messed me up last week. He says it's okay for me to do squats and lunges on my own  YAY, something besides upper body strength training!!! |

I picked up some long sleeve tech shirts and some 3/4 tights. We have a lot of that in-between weather here in Indiana. It's too cool for just shorts but not quite cold enough to get all tricked out in tights and other assorted cold gear. And of course I saw a thousand other things that I wanted. I caved and bought a new pair of shorts because they were just too cool to pass up. It took all my willpower to leave an awesome Nike shirt on the hanger. It said, "I'm not a tomboy, I'm just better than you." If it had been any color other than white it would have been mine. I would not have been able to resist. Ooohh I need that shirt... That is cool. |

It's going to be 80 degrees here today. Does anybody know of a good online place to buy some winter running stuff? Mostly gloves and tights I think. You call 80 degrees winter? I haven't bought any running stuff online. I don't need much for gloves when running. I picked up a thin pair of basic gloves for a couple of bucks at Walmart that work fine for me. They aren't quite enough for riding in the winter though. I just use some basic athletic pants over my running shorts in cold weather and they have been fine. Its hard for me to spend the extra money when what I have works fine. have to agree on the running part. I bought an ASICS jacket for running and have worn it 1 or 2 times I think and that was snowshoeing to keep the snow off of my back from the kick motion. You are going to overheat pretty quick on the run. A basic hat and gloves will work down to temps where it probably isn't safe to run anyways. Biking - whole different story because of natural wind chill effect. Just a hat and gloves? Yeppers and you will have to venture down the QEW to verify that if interested! I have a ****sock as well for added protection and that way I don't get arrested for lewdness! It would also prevent penile frost bite and deter stray dogs THis part of the conversation amuses me  |
