That looks awesome! I wanna go, too!

When you come visit, we can go.

Of course I am terrified of heights. I figure it is time to get over that. At least while I would be all tied in and stuff.

I'll tell you what I tell my son. It's ok to be afraid of things, sometimes it keeps you safe. If you're always afraid to try new things though, you're going to miss the good stuff.

True enough. Except, I am REAL sure I am not going to rock climb. My whole family LOVES it. Heck, the boy teaches it. NOPE. NO. NYET. There is a level of terror I am NOT up for.

(I did try it once, though so I KNOW I hate it. Hate, I say).

Rock climbing is something I want to do, but I need to work on the upper body strength first. I have a friend who is willing to take me. I'd like to use the climbinb wall at the college sometime, but I need to take a safety class first.

I LOVE climbing walls. They don't involve getting too high off the ground. Come visit. The son will take you climbing. He is great and takes folks of all abilities. I'll fix drinks after.

I am hung up on what to get the nephew for Christmas. He is odd. He plays video games and plays trumpet in the school band. As far as I can tell, that is all he is interested in. He does not even have a drivers license to go anywhere on his own.
I figured a book on 1000 places to see before you die would be good. The DH's idea was the Kama Sutra and some condoms.

I'm definitely coming down, I already told the kids we were going to see you. I'm just trying to figure out when. We may have to bring Milo, too. Are you saying drinks before would not be a good idea?

If all he's into is video games and the band, your husbands idea might be one of those gifts that goes unused.

How old is he?

17. Which is why his lack of interest in anything is hard to figure.

Perhaps a bronze membership to BT with a link to the C25K program.

I am so excited!

I DID get my long run in yesterday that I missed on Sunday.  I am very pleased and slightly shocked!  I had planned 9.5 miles at 12:00 pace (I only jog, not run).  This would have taken me about 1 hour 55 minutes.  I wasn't running a pre-measured course, so I tried to run a comfortably slow pace for 2 hours.  When I mapped it out, I had run over 11 miles!   I checked it numerous times because I couldn't believe that I had gone that far that fast!  This meant about 10:40 pace for my longest distance!  Crazy!  But wonderful !!!!  And I am not really sore, just a little like any long jog.  Whoo hoo!!  Laughing

This is a real milestone and makes me feel really good looking toward my 1/2 marathon in February!

Christmas is a necessity.  There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves.
