Happy Friday Manatees.  I have been MIA but quite busy, running a little more than usual amongst other things.  I start a new position at work next Wednesday (in the training deptartment).  My long run Sunday will be part of a 50 mile relay called the Bison 50.  My leg is 13.5 miles but I will be running 20 total, at least that is the plan.  I saw this article and in my short 1 year career in H.S XC I actually ran the Mt San Antonio college course and it is a tough one.  There is a monster hill of 184 feet over 0.4 miles that starts just before the first mile marker.  That is a huge climb and that course is dreaded by many.  I remember guys that were used to running 15s going 16-17s on this course.  This gile did it in 16 flat.  The fast gilrs on my HS XC team went 19 or 20s on this course.  Amazing how fast this girl is.                                                     http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/varsitytimesinsider/2012/10/-sarah-baxter-is-the-talk-of-high-school-cross-country.html

This is the Mt. SAC course I was talking about.  Just imagine the BOP HS XC runners seeing that hill.  Also, you can see it from the start line, it is very antimidating.  I remember watching the girls running up it while we waited for our race to start.  HTFU at such a young age....    http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/55475554

Morning!  Saturday here, pretty cold - going for a run test out the foot.  Just gonna drive to the beach so I can run on a flat route - out and back about 4.5km.  Along the beach is grand though in any weather. DONE.  Felt good - waves crashing, rain lashing, wind smashing - awesome.

9am got me a bike lesson, Coach Mark gonna put me through my paces! CANCELLED

3pm - swim squad.  I love the Saturday session it's all drill not much swimming
REPLACED - 11am swim, Macca Elevator session, will report details and how much it hurt later.

5pm - Greek bbq extravaganza!  yay! Oh this stands very much so.

Good luck all you racers!

I've got this hill right by my house. 500 feet elevation gain, just over a quarter mile. It is a KILLER. Literally people honk and wave if they see you running up it.

We kind of have this email thing going on...so I feel like I know him already.  I will tell him all about BT and my mad manatees.  I will get his race schedule so you all can go find him...

Anyone in Texas this weekend he's doing Austin 70.3

And for those infatuated with Terenzo Bozzone (that's me) he's doing Miami 70.3

Piglet craziness!

Ahh, big deal, you guys have met Macca and Chrissie.  I am just back from having dinner with the infamous Salty!  She has a pic to prove it.  Hopefully she will actually post it, or y'all won't believe me....  Although we were 20 minutes late...freakin' Seattle traffic...Thank heavens she forgave me....Just back at the hotel from having a great dinner at Marination Ma Kai in Seattle.  For those who want to know, Adrienne is a)as saucy in person b)as cute as her picture and c)pretty much as awesome as she seems here online.  My SO and I had a great time chatting with her (quiz her on Canadian Serial Killers!) and having some beers.  Even drove by the Salty's made famous by Adrienne's recent race!  Hope to meet some of you other Manatees in person someday.  In case anyone was wondering...nothing got blown up.  Although the employees of the restaurant did start emptying the garbages RIGHT NEXT TO OUR TABLE--I think it was a hint to get the Frog out already...  Wink

Oh, yeah, and apparently she is a regular, they brought her extra take out and everything...

Manatees!

October 27-28

Janyne - Habitat Halloween 100k ride (not a race) on Saturday
Ann-Marie - Rev3 Florida on Sunday
Kate - Down and Dirty Mud Run on Sunday

Good luck to all!!

Janyne: wishing you totally safety and confidence and all-around good wishes on the bike.
Ann-Marie: enjoy your race, and I do hope the weather is favorable and not windy or worse.  I *heart* Rev3.
Kate - kick some mud!!
Jen - good luck in your race, too.  Take care of that hand/wrist!
Chris - have a blast volunteering!

Allen: thankfully I do believe wine is on the 'OK' list for our weight-loss plan.   At least it better be!
Salty: you will be the best looking Robin to ever grace the streets, have fun and try to remember to take it easy!
Yanti: speaking of taking it easy, please don't overdo your training and get sick(er?) or hurt

It's a good job i had a bottle last night then, or i'd be a right porker this morning, after the curry+nan.
