Subject: Psoas stretch
Sorry to hear about your pulled psoas.  I hope you mean strained.  Unfortunately, I know all about it having had it the last two years.  This year I'm healthy and thankful for it.

I ran two marathons and three 1/2IMs with it so I think it is possible to do placid successfully if you play your cards right.  I took 800mg of ibuprofen before my races and stretched liberally.  To stretch it, place your knee on the ground (with a pillow under it), put the other foot on the ground ahead of it, and strech your hips by putting your hip forward, and (here is the important part) tilt your torso to the side opposite your down knee and bring your arm up over your head like you're trying to touch the opposite shoulder.  It wasn't until I heard about this stretch that I got true relief.

Good luck everybody!

scottgreenstone - 2010-07-19 8:25 AM what is the downside of changing a front cable at this stage of the game? My front derailleur cable is slightly frayed at the derailleur contact

If it is frayed change it.

Should not be a downside, may need a slight adjustment.  Are you doing it?

I change cables (brakes and derailleur) about twice a year with stainless steal.  I change cable housing about once a year more or less.

Silly question... who bought IMLP clothing, etc last year at the expo? Anything really nice I should bring extra $$ for? Does it get discounted online after we all get home?

I bought a bike shirt and some pint glasses. This stuff is still for sale at shopironman.com, although I'm still waiting for it to be discounted. But you can see alot of the stuff that they sell.

Thaks for the tip!  I've been doing this stretch, but without the arm raise...i will try this!!  And yes, I did mean strained...I think the body aches are all just running together now :-P

It seems I can run, its just painful.  I have been doing 800mg of ibuprofin twice a day, will do the same before the ran, and on the bike before the run.

Good luck Sunday!

That's HOT James! Are those tubulars? If so, what saddle bag do you have behind the seat that fit's the tubular spare? It looks like the perfect size.

Thanks Bryan.

Yes my wheels are Zipp 808 tubulars.

The bag is a RavX MiniX

http://www.ravx.com/2010_product_pages/bags/mini_x.html

I can get the following in it.  It was tight but I got it in.  Folding the tubie just right was the key, it was pe-glued as well.   Fred seen the setup at EagleMan.

1 Tubulars
1 C02 with injector
1 “crack pipe”
1 tire iron
1 razor blade
1 handy wipe
2 pennies

I had 1 Can of pit stop strapped under the bag with velcro.

EDIT
btw link works

Also I think there is room for 2 CO2

Thanks Jenn.

No pink cables, though.

The fun thing is; I build this except installing the crown race which requires a $150 tool I don’t have.  Oh yeah I didn’t cut the steer tube I don’t have that tool a $25 jig.

I'm probably the only one, but I want it to be HOT.  It will make me feel better about my 20+ milers in 95 degree heat.

Thanks!

There is a hint of red accent in the paint scheme that you really can tell in the picture.

I hear you but I am not in the same race as you. You are a potential Kona qualifier looking at the competition and what the heat will do to them as opposed to it affecting you less. I am just out there to try and race my personal best and meet my goals which is always easier to do in cooler weather. You will do very well either way. My day is a lot uglier at 90 degrees than it is at 75! I am pulling for the 75 baby!
