Hey everyone. Sorry I didn't post earlier, kind of forgot about coming to this thread to post. I've been writing emails, making phone calls and trying to take naps constantly.
I'm doing better. If you're interested I've posted retroactively to Sunday when the crash happened.

2 straight days of working out again for me. This is ridiculous that I have to keep starting over and can't keep any consistency. I feel like I have to post to stay accountable to everyone so you will all kick me in the arse when I slack.

Got my first 56 mile bike in today and am finally starting to feel like I am going to be able to tackle Steelhead in August.

Watching the CDA coverage as well. Definitely makes you look at some long term goals...

I read through your logs and everything, I'm glad you're getting better! What an accident!

Things have been insane for me, and I'm in panic mode training for the Canadian death race ! Climbing all the hills I can find!

Seems like I'm not the only one having a hard time keeping consistent, it helps to read through the forums and posts here though!

keep it up everyone

Hows the week going everyone?

I seem to be back on track (fingers crossed when I say that)

I have had 3 descent days in a row. Tomorrow we will shoot for a 3+ hour ride and a swim before that.

Hope everything is well with everyone!

Looks like everyone is doing well, I'm really back on track I've ran 7 out of the last 9 days. My legs are starting to come back to me. Heading up to Indy this weekend for some family fun.

Ryan it sounds like you are doing well with your recovery. I have a question, reading some of your logs did you cut an artery? If you get a little stir crazy next week our kids swim teacher is at Olympic trials doing the 100 backstroke.

Tim, not sure if I did cut an artery, no one ever mentioned it. I'll have to do some checking. With as much blood loss as there was and with the use of a turniquet, I'm guessing yes.
I do plan on going to a few Oly trials sessions, not sure which ones just yet, but planning on it.

Glad to hear your okay Ryan and that would be very cool to see the olympic trials. I think sometimes it can be better than the olympics itself especially like in distance running where we have no shot but have good competition in the trials. Swimming, well we usually kick some serious a$$ at that.

Ryan if you do make it her name is Heidi Hadleberg she is with the Lakeside Seahawks here in Louisville. Her teammate is Rachel Komisarz a past 04 gold medalist. Give them a shout out if you can. Oh and stay away from the Gatorade table.

Make that 7 straight days and my first solid week in months. So for next week I was thinking of doing the planned workouts again.

Put down what you have planned and see how consistent you can be. Best of luck. We are halfway through this year so its time to start busting out !!

So is anyone racing soon?

Well Undecided

Last week I would have said it was coming around, but this week has been crap again. Yell

I have the next 3 weeks to get in some key workouts and see what happens. It will not be a good race by any means but if I can feel okay then I will be okay with that and the focus for IM AZ will be on.

Hey gang, we have a new member joining. Paul Walker will be chiming in here shortly... I think. We were in a weightloss group together this past winter and he is looking for a mentor group.

Sounds good. Hopefully, we can continue to check in so he has some company.

Looks like summer is catching up to a lot of us, although I had a pretty good week of training and am hoping to keep it up.

Hey Everyone- Thanks for the response, I really appreciate all of the kind words.

Saturday went really well as I was able to drop 17+ minutes from last years time on the same course. While the athlete in me says I could have done better on the swim and bike, the other half of me is pleased with my run. The biggest thing is that I am improving, which feels good.

Who's racing next?

The good news keeps coming in for me, God has blessed me.

I've been riding a stationary bike the last two weeks and as soon as I get my bike shoes back I plan on starting spin classes to get my strength back before heading outdoors.  (Also need to replace my bike before "heading outdoors".)  I also got the go-ahead from my doctor to start swimming again, the scar has healed well enough.

Things are actually looking so good that I'm going to try to enter a bike 'ride' next month.  Don't know how long I'll ride or if I'll end up having to borrow one, but that's the goal.

Hope everyone is doing well!
