Morning, Nibbs!

Happy HUMP Day!

On deck - teaching this this morning and early afternoon, then off to the gym for a nice long run, before I pick up the Monkeys.

Thought for the day...courtesy of Elder Monkey:
People who drive little cars should stay behind us. Why, honey? Because they drive too slow and if you run into them, you'll smoosh them.

Good to know she harbors no delusions about my driving skills or speed.

givemashot - 2008-01-22 5:07 PM SO my DH said he wants to tri with me. This was just before he drifted off to sleep night before last. Should I hold him to it? And how do I gingerly tell him he's got a lot of stabilization work to do before he tackles any challenge so he doesn't blow another disc in his back?

Another victim...

Ugh. I feel even worse than I did yesterday. It feels like I'm having a nervous breakdown, or whatever that is.

I simply want to quit, go home, sleep in my room at my parents' house, and not deal with anything ever again.

Scott, me thinks you need a little reminder.

Yanti!!! Any gossip to report?

Nay, just drama. I've fallen in love. This, generally, does not happen to me. Of course, this is stupid, ill-fated, unrequited love. Dammit. It's grand.

How are you???

Um........ uh.......... details? Wait no -- pictures! We want pictures!

LMAO - this is Nibbs - its been lacking in pictures recently dont cha think?

Yes, we HAVE been lacking pics. Hm, doesn't Sal still owe Kendra a pic?

Shhhh...Kendra did give me the O.K. to do a swimsuit pic in the snow...which would replace the kilt/wig/LD pic...

Yes he does - does he realise that no matter how long he puts it off we are always going to remember?

I think he's figured that out by now. Although, maybe he's wondering why WE don't realize that he's not going to post it anytime soon.

I've been VERY busy...

Scott, you need to get out more.  Seriously.  When I'm super stressed (like I have been the past two weeks), it's IMPORTANT CRITICAL for me to:

1.  Get my workouts in
2.  Spend time with family or a few close friends
3.  Do things I ENJOY doing
4.  Read I book *I* want to read

Really puts the 'job' in perspective.  I have co-workers who send me e-mails and leave voice mails at 8pm.  How is that healthy?  They've got a warped sense of priorities.

It really is all about balance.  When you take time for the 'real' stuff (family, friends, enjoying life), the stresses of work really tend to take a back seat and you begin to remember what's REALLY important.

Now go out there and DO!  Nothing worse than to sit alone at home.  That's a depression spiral waiting to happen...

Scott, just try to remember that any change in life can cause you to feel this way. Even the good changes. Change has the ability to send us into  a tailspin. Marriage, divorce, birth, death, new job, moving...all are major changes, and even the ones that are changes for the better can still upset the balance. Ride out this wave of change, don't give up on doing things you know you would normally enjoy. Allow yourself the bad feelings but don't let them drag you under. Please. The good feelings will come back when the new life becomes the normal life. Hang in there.

I'm not really a morning person, so I've always had a hard time with morning workouts.  I wonder if I can train myself to be better about them.  I feel so much better.  I wasn't dreading the workout and now I feel like I've actually gotten somthing done today.

I'm not a morning person either.  I did actually train myself to do morning workouts and was consistent for more than 2 years

-it also really helped that I had a workout partner that I was accountable to meeting up with - made me get my butt out of bed

this summer i decided to go after work since my kids were out of school and sports - BIG mistake, I have yet to get back in the habit

I'm a night owl

I'm a night owl

I started morning workouts for family time reasons.  My kids are usually rushing around in the morning getting ready for school, and it's not typically good quality time, so I opt to leave early to beat the traffic.  I'll stop in at the gym on the way to work, or workout in the 'corporate' gym.  If I miss a morning workout, then there's the incentive to get the lunchtime workout in if the schedule allows.  I typically don't like to workout on the way home, cuz I'd rather spend that time with the fam, who are already home from school.

You learn to become less of a night owl (which I usually am) when the alarm goes off at 4:30 to 5:30 in the morning!  In fact, I get downright tired by the time 10pm rolls around...

I've been having problems with night workouts, too, since I've been getting stuck in the lab until 6 or later.  It's really hard to get motivated to run when I get home late.

Hi there Sal!

How's the project going this week?

A little less hectic...can you tell (batting my eyelashes)?  This is like my 8th post in the Twisnibbins thread!

So what time will you get into work tomorrow?  11...11:15?   Aren't the last 2 weeks great?

This is the kind of problem Im having... I leave work so late that its literally go home, make dinner, eat, (work some more but hopefully not for too much longer) and then SLEEP
